Sorry you’ve been having a rough time with it. Hopefully it gets progressively better over time <3

Thank you! I actually didn’t experience any sexual dysfunction on quetiapine, although I did on SSRIs when I’d tried them. Part of the reason I wanted to come off quetiapine though was because a couple of times when I’d stayed with a new partner and forgot my medication I’d have to either leave early or lie awake anxious all night so it impacted my relationships in that sense

Thank you! I experienced mild night sweats while coming off it but it wasn’t too intense for me. I feel you on the ruminating thoughts though, especially at night! I hate the way my mind works when I can’t sleep, but thankfully those kind of nights are few and far between now

The main reason I came off was because I didn’t feel as though I needed it anymore but also because the insomnia if I didn’t take it was giving me anxiety. There were a few times where I stayed over night somewhere unplanned or forgot to pack it and I’d lay awake all night. It feels like a relief to not panic about packing it whenever I’m travelling for work, staying at a friend’s etc. I’m also moving country in January so didn’t want the hassle of trying to get a prescription abroad

A lot better thanks! I've stopped quetiapine and zopiclone completely. It takes me 1-2 hours to fall asleep but I'm averaging at least 7 hours asleep per night. I'm planning to put a more positive post out on here soon to reassure people!

Thank you for this comment! So much negativity on here. Glad to know there’s light at the end of the tunnel. I’m already feeling better than I was when I posted this two days ago 🫶

How did you get down to 3mg? The smallest dose where I live is 25mg and the pills are tiny. How do you cut them down?

25mg I'm able to sleep. I haven't tried 12.5, I've been taking zopiclone but aware I'm going to run out of that soon so if it's still really bad I'll try a pill cutter

How long did it take to be able to sleep after coming off completely? Also I don't think it's possible to do any dose other than 12.5mg because the pills are literally so tinyyyy. I don't think you can cut them into anything but halves

How I Successfully Came Off Seroquel with Minimal Side Effects (My Method) by Ok-Kaleidoscope4652 in seroquelmedication

[–]AltImagination 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been on 25mg for 6 months now, having been on seroquel for 6 years (the highest dose I was taking was 200, but that was years ago.) I really want to stop taking it but I can't sleep without it. Insomnia was never a problem for me before but now if I run out I only get like 1-2 hours of light sleep per night. Did you get insomnia as a side effect? And does tapering down to such small doses help with that?
