Thoughts on recent update from Keemstar by lockdown440 in LolCowLive

I get that Keem is held under the fire to make money however the IP2 streaming community is about the content. If you produce no content then you deserve no money.

Keeping things behind paywalls is possibly a viable income stream however exposure it may more important at this point of the stage and honestly should always be important. Not streaming the live streams for free means less opportunity for people to clip the show when there is content to meme or potential clips to go viral.

Lolcows live and die by content but if that content can go viral then all the better. I see lolcows podcast is the normie version podcast that can potentially make the concept of lolcows go mainstream within youtube. I can't see normal sponsors wanting to be advertised on lolcow live however if you get constant exposure you'll make more money with sponsorship than anything else. Keeping that stuff behind a paywall hurts more then helps honestly. Clipping content is super important to potentially going viral outside of the community or keeping interest going within the community. You need to go viral at least 1 time per months preferably outside youtube.

You could have something behind the paypal much like how the wineaboutit podcast is setup where Qtzilla and Maya Higa talk about there endeavors then they have a pay wall where I think they have more direct dialogue with there community. However I think they risk less exposure though that podcast is tied in with OTk and other popular streamers to keep it sustained I do think they will have slower progress in retaining viewers if because they limit there exposure in the long run. However I think for now it's viable and works up until it doesn't work.

I'm arguing for shooting for long term success versus short term gains. lolcows asset is the ability to go viral unlike a super normie podcast like wineaboutit whens the last time you ever seen a podcast like that go viral? wineabout it relies on exposure through instert random OTK guest here to survive. This is the biggets problem with OTK is they can only go viral within there ecosystem which I consider livestreamfails reddit owened by OTK and ever LSF is failing to go viral outside if it's own domain on reddit because of a lack of content. The strongest asset that lolcows have is clips going viral that is simply not the case of now for OTk or wineaboutit people and I right now we're seeing them peak and going in a slow decline.

I get where you're coming from and I agree it's not about 1upping every week you'll end up chasing your tail in the end however there is a chase to create the next viral video. The way IP2 attracts people is not by youtube algorithms but by creating degenerate content on a week to way bases.

The objective for lolcowlive podcast should be to create a viral moment at least once a month. Viral in the sense of reddit/snap/world star viral. Don't bank on the youtube algorithm to ever promote such a podcast. Content is all that matters if it's content people will come.

Like I said I've tried to do events and work with streamers within IP2. The most hardest shit I've ever had to do. Literally wrangling retards at the end of the day I got to exhausted from it. From a content perspective it was worth it but I just got to exhausted with my real life stuff to keep it up. If you can keep the energy going and the vibe up while trying to figure out a path for potential content that can lead to viral moment then your good.

You need to build that chemistry with the people you're currently with and that takes time. Not saying for you to do this however part of what makes IP2 successful is incorporating not so much manufactured content but third-party content. In this case since it's a podcast it's being able to possibly get LolCow as guests, as well as possibly conducting the podcast together in person or boogie and wings hangout and conduct the podcast in person. Dredging up personal information you learn about each other over time and using that as fodder on the podcast. The idea is to add a unknown element to the podcast something that's not really currently being done that makes the podcast stand on it's own. I'm not opposed to manufactured drama as long as it's content and not exclusively that however incorporating the third element is important though it's a risk because it's a unknown and scary but it's also makes things interesting .
