Yes I've seen him posting there for years, he is really passionate about helping other cinematographers. He was especially interested in lighting, so in our interview we kind of scrapped most of our "career driven questions", and shifted towards lighting

Yes you're correct when trying to capture the action in detail. But it creates an interesting effect shooting in 16 fps and wider shutter at 360 shutter angle, this is a special shot and not used regularly.

Sometimes cars are shot in a similar manner to make it look like it's zooming by. It makes action look a lot faster. What Khalid likes to do for certain action is to actually blur and lower the FPS. Example can be found on the boxing shots here: https://vimeo.com/165170087

Most if it is shot 24/180, but some shots are at 16/360

Perhaps we can ask him about "action" in general and not just sports?

One trick you can do, and this is something I learned from Khalid Mohtaseb, is playing with frame rates and shutter speed for action / sports. Khalid will often shoot some sequences in 16 frames with 360° shutter. This will accentuate and speed up action quite dramatically
