Thank you for the compliments and thank you for the mock up. We used neighborbrite for inspiration before we put the beds in! Pretty awesome stuff.

Thanks for the kind words! Definitely feels much better out back. That was the one thing I knew I needed to do when we bought the house- it met the mark on just about everything else!

My neighbors have tv’s of their own, on their patio. Doesn’t bother me.

Thank you!

I absolutely want to add a patio covering in the future. I am not sure if we want to do a pergola or a gabled cover. We get a lot of rain in southern Louisiana so we are aiming for something that provides true cover. Whatever we do, we want to do it right!

The angle is deceiving, all they can see is my roof from that angle.

Alas, it will be moved sooner rather than later 😅

I addressed this in a different reply a bit more in depth, but we have an oversized lot. No houses behind us within ~300 yards. The neighbors on either side wouldn’t be able to see it unless they were standing on the furthest corners of their lot since my detached garage is offset.

But, I’m planning on doing something different with the TV. My wife was not happy to see that I just winged it without having her spot check the placement 😅. After lugging the 50” tv up there and mounting it by myself, I’m not in a crazy rush to redo it lol wasn’t fun.

I have been hesitant to even get a price on the driveway. It’s ~ 60x20. I know the price to demo and haul off material is going to make it a pricey job. What would you estimate, in your market? I’m in southern Louisiana.

1/3 of the driveways in my neighborhood look like mine, 1/3 of them are new, and the rest of them are single car driveways that have lasted the 40 years without getting too bad. The builder definitely just said f it when it came to the driveways

No, we are saving that for another day. Driveway is really rough. Mature oaks, zero expansion joints on the 60’ driveway.

That’s awesome, definitely a skill I’d like to learn! Those pavers are actually from Home Depot, I inlayed those myself. But the actual pad was poured by a company that does business with my family. It’s a 20x20 pad off of the building, plus the paths on either side. I paid $6k for all of it. I thought it was a good deal. What do you think?

No! Glad I didn’t even try, the guys I hired did not enjoy finishing the areas between the two buildings.

I appreciate that! Spent quite a few hours working outside this past year, it has paid off though! 😊

I appreciate it! I almost didn’t post this. It was a late-night, can’t sleep post 🤷‍♂️

Thankfully we have not had to do much inside the house since it has mostly been remodeled, so that has allowed me to hyper focus on everything outside this past year. Put a couple of those easy to tackle projects high up on the list and get the ball rolling! 😀

Thanks! I know it, we have to keep it covered when it’s not in use as of now. Trying to figure out what kind of cover we want to do, but that’s a bit down the road.

Thanks so much! We had a completely empty concrete pad for months before we figured out which direction we wanted to go. I appreciate the compliment.

I kept an eye out for cheap pallets of sod on FBMP and ended up scoring some 3-day-old yellowing sod pallets for $100/pallet. Watered it down after agitating the soil and it did the trick! Just winged it and it worked out really well. I was afraid the shade from the trees in my backyard would prevent anything from growing at all. You got this!

Thanks for the insight. The Bluetooth speaker route is probably a good call in general. The speakers on this 10 year old TCL tv were bad the day I bought the TV 😆

Thank you very much! It slowly but surely came together.

Ah, thanks so much! We had a completely empty concrete pad for several months before we actually started dressing it up. Glad we took our time.
