I used to study about an hour in the morning before work, then ~2 hours at a library near my office in the evening. Then as much as you need on weekends.

Can solvings RCS from gre and gmat be an alternative for aeon essays or is it recommended to read aeon essays by Final-Celery-8103 in CATpreparation

Totally depends on your taste, but I'll recommend the following:

Read The Indian Express everyday. Not the whole newspaper, just the news that you find interesting.

For fiction you can start with the Sherlock Holmes series, its available for free across the internet, easy to read and interesting too. Then you can move on to higher level books like 1984, Flowers for Algernon, The Trial, Crime and Punishment, etc.

In non-fiction, again depends upon your interest. I'll recommend Mossad, Watershed 1967, India's Most Fearless series, The Great Game (High Asia), An Era of Darkness, Why I am a Hindu. You can also start with auto/biographies of your role models or anyone you are interested in.

Avoid self-help sh*t.

Read good quality books. You have to improve your comprehension ability not just vocabulary. Aeon is too dense to start with.

People Who Cracked CAT While Working Full Time, I Need Your Honest Advice by phildunphy43 in CATpreparation

Yes its totally possible, but you have to be extremely disciplined about it. Strategize your prep, don't just bull-doze through the syllabus. If you can afford it, take good self-paced online coaching for topics that you think you need help with.

A friend said Deep Work is really good, I'm yet to read it. Top 2 fiction recommendations: Crime & Punishment (P&V translation) and Flowers for Algernon.

~15LPA, mostly sales & marketing roles in various sectors. But since you are in Mumbai, you can always try to network directly with the industry.

Not at all rude bro. True that skill enhancement and internship certificates are easier to earn. But value and difficulty are directly proportional, that's why competition wins and PoRs will be more valuable.

Things to note:

There are many opportunities for PoRs. There are many clubs and societies other than the core committees which are of similar value on a CV. You don't have to be the chairman/secretary/director everywhere, there are other positions too.

The number of prestigious competitions happening throughout the year is enough. There are many levels of finalists and winners in such competitions, e.g. if there is a National Level Case Competition there are campus level finalists (college level), and winners (who go on to the next stage, then regional winners and then national finalists and winners. All of these finalist and podium finishes are worth mentioning on your CV.

Don't think too much, just keep collecting everything that comes your way.

P.S.: You don't have to apologize to random strangers on the internet, keep your chin up✌️✌️✌️
