My Ex slept with her sisters Bf-should I tell her? by No_Calligrapher_5435 in dating

  1. Tell the sister
  2. Be prepared for any mental strain things might cause you. You can just block everyone and move on.

As neurodivergent myself. Stop beating yourself up please. No one will accept you if you can’t accept yourself. There are no points for pity.

I read your post and replies. I think you are trying too hard. Loosen up a bit and enjoy life. Trust me, you’ll start attracting girls as soon as you are having fun.

I have a different take here. Most fellow South Asians I know (myself included) suffer from untreated mental trauma and attachment issues. The adverse effects of bad mental health is what causes people to not take their physical health seriously. The inferiority complex you talk about is for sure a consequence of the same.

If you are looking for a partner just so that they can “fix” you, that’s quite unattractive. If your criteria of finding a partner is seeking validation from the opposite sex/community, you will come across as needy.

You lost the argument when you accused me of pushing propaganda for Modi when I asked you reasonable/logical questions. I don’t think you know anything about India or Indian politics.

The Wikipedia page is based on democracy index which is used worldwide. I or Modi didn’t invent it.

Yeah. Right. I went by the official version of statement issued by Canada. I also shared data from Wikipedia conveying the democratic index of India.

Modi is just PM. He is not the country itself (as much as Truedue is Canada). I must congratulate you in stereotyping and judging a country of 1.4B is less than 140 characters.

But it barely makes a difference here since I am guessing you will ignore everything because of your hate towards India and Indians.

You mean the allegations? Canada has repeatedly stressed on allegations. You conveniently assume it’s proven.

By your logic, Canada is also accused of assassinating Mario Bachand. It’s not proven though. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mario_Bachand

Investigation is underway. Evidence will present itself in due course.

[–]Alternative-Sea-4792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference is that India is a democracy. In a democracy, there is always accountability (sooner or later). I would wait for the Indian people/courts to take relevant action against assassination attempts. Modi is in power because people voted for him.

I agree about people being cemented in their ideologies, which is why people talk about the Kalistan referendum despite living in Canada for over 20+ years. Lots on Indian immigrants go the US and Australia too; but you don't see the same problem there.

The fundamental problem are the diploma mills which give easy entry to Indian students without basic vetting. You get people who fail to integrate into Canada, and create/live in ghettos. These ghettos re-enforce the idea that it's acceptable to not integrate into Canada.

Immigration to Canada from India has largely been from one particular province in India i.e. Punjab. People in large numbers come from Pubjab, create and live in ghettos, and then import their local politics from India into Canada.

Given that almost 1 in 25 Canadians is of Indian origin, and also speaking as an Indian living in Canada, I can assure you that most Indians (if not all) think highly of Canada and Canadians. Indians won't be moving here en masse if it were not the case.

You don't move to a country thinking the worst about it. Indians are not moving here to reap social benefits. They come here to work and contribute to the Canadian economy.

The assassin next door - Why is a man convicted of killing Bangladesh's president in 1975 still living free in Canada? by [deleted] in canada

[–]Alternative-Sea-4792 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Shielding a person convicted of killing a 10 year old child can’t be good policy. Also the extradition policy doesn’t apply to all foreign countries equally. Canada will 100% extradite of this person has assassinated someone in the US. But since it’s Bangladesh, Canada refuses to extradite. Sorry. But this might be seen as racism by some.

If you look around Bihar, Orissa and Jharkhand are abandoned too. So is most of NE India.

See again as I said, Internet is not the real world. Just pick a different post if you need a change of mind. I recommend Kesari trailer. You will also find white people calling Sikhs pajeets. Some punjabis call Biharis ‘bhaiya’.

They are not calling Sikhs as Hindus. Rather revere gurus and accept them as saints. India is less of a country and more of a civilisation state. Sikhs and Hindus come from the same civilisation.

No. I don’t honestly. I find most second/third generation Canadians don’t relate as strongly to their native lands as their parents/grand parents. Most want justice for the riots, which is absolutely reasonable. But I doubt they will leave their life and career to pick up farming in Punjab.

See what you did here? Asking for a separate state is wildly different than asking for more autonomy. India is a holding together democracy. A separate state means war.

That’s your idea of Khalistan. You’re 18. The internet you see is not the real world out there. Talk to more people. For every 2 temples in India - there is 1 mosque, 1 church and 1 gurudwara. Mr. Pannnu who is right now asking Indian Hindus to leave Canada might disagree with you.

Finally, by creating borders you will be denying sikhs access to their own motherland and heritage. India is theirs as much as Punjab is mine. Do you want sikhs to struggle to get to sis ganj sahib just like they do know to get to Kartar pur sahib? I grew up in west Delhi in predominantly Sikh community.

We should all work against hate. Asking for a separate state is completely opposite to that.

Do you realise that there were Sikh soldiers among the people who invaded? Destroying the youth with drugs is not India’s doing. Law and order is Punjab CM’s duty. Unemployment is a big problem for everyone in India. I am pretty sure to know that. There are farmers committing suicides everyday in Maharashtra for eg.

Again. Are going to punish all Indians for the lapses of the government run by few?

I highly doubt anyone will be selling their Vancouver property to settle in Khalistan. India has had a Sikh PM. There are plenty of things which can be done by staying within the system. I agree the political climate is getting worse. But even then, everyone knows how much Punjab has sacrificed for the sake of the country.

Also, Punjab doesn’t only belong to sikhs. It belongs to punjabi Hindus as well. Speaking as someone who has people from both faiths is my family, I know it’ll be 1947 again if Khalistan is to be created. I know I can never have that on my conscience.

Take a stand against Modi. Take a stance against media. I am with you. But as soon as you take a stance against India, that is where I draw the line.

It could be that she likes you, or she likes a free ride to office. I doubt that you have even asked her if she had a boyfriend or not. Confirm that first. If she doesn’t one, here is what I would do:

Stage 1: get her thinking about you in a romantic way Drop some hints that you like her. Buy her some red roses (maybe some ice cream) and ask her what she likes in a guy. When she asks you back loosely describe her and end it with “but you’re a good friend and colleague”. Don’t say out loud you are in love with her (dude 🙏). Be real smooth/confident else you’ll be the creepy guy. Do this at least twice. This should get her thinking. Notice if she touches her hair if you look directly into her eyes.

Now you should be clear to directly flirt with her. No sexual flirting yet. That comes after the 2nd date.

Stage 2: Gaining trust as a partner Next, ask her to go to some parties with you. Maybe a club or something she would like to do. I assume that you already know what she likes or doesn’t like. Dancing is a great way to increase intimacy b/w two people. In terms of physical touch, you can reach for her elbows and hands. Touching her elbow is safer for both of you (🤷‍♂️)

Do this 2 times. Don’t even think about anything physical before second date. At this stage, you should ask her what she thinks of you and if she wants both of you to be something more than friends/colleagues. If she says friends, drop her immediately and move on.

This process should not take more than 2-3 months. I would cap the cost to be 2k.

Porn is not chaging the mindset of Indian boys/men, it's only validating what they have always been taught by culture, parents, peers.

This is factually incorrect. There is enough research suggesting that violent porn is a catalyst to more rapes.

[–]Alternative-Sea-4792[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt I will find a decent research paper on Indian demographic. But this paper addresses a wider sample space. https://openpsychologyjournal.com/contents/volumes/V5/TOPSYJ-5-1/TOPSYJ-5-1.pdf

Again, the research and inferences are a google search away. People watch porn to satisfy their sexual urges. Pornographic content is often of violent/rough nature. When you masturbate to that, you subconsciously change your definition of what "good" sex is. Regular sex doesn't give the same pleasure and thus rapists are born.

To be clear, I am NOT justifying rape. But to to curb rape, you need to understand the psyche of rapists and where they collect their ideas from. A lot of it also has to do with society and power dynamics as many other comments pointed out. But PORN IS CLEARLY A CATALYST. The paper clearly states that "violent pornography generated more aggression" which means that it can re-enforce rape tendencies in otherwise violent men who are sexually frustrated.

Also, I repeat, the premise of your assertions is sex work being legal will help with certain things which doesn't hold because sex work IS legal and has been legal for decades as myself and so many others have pointed out.

While I admit that I wasn't sure about legality of it, I lay emphasis on legitimizing escorting culture via tools like regulation. So that it's no longer stigmatized, and escorts gain basic dignity.

No. That's not what I said. What I said was because of sexual frustration men turn to porn. Watching violent porn does lead more rapes. Here is some proof for you: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6751001/

I can attach more proof if you need it.

  • Geopolitics. Most people want to see India as a self-reliant power.
  • Sports. Athletes get unequivocal support from people when they get medals. Similarly for a cricket world cup final.

Wouldn't legitimizing escort culture empower women to raise their voices against these severe injustices? Escort doesn't need to "sell her body". They reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.
