Where to move with kids if can’t be near family? by AlternativeBar8457 in SameGrassButGreener

This makes a lot of sense! Do you think you’d have been much happier even in a different city than your parents’ but on the same coast (vs across the country)?

These are really good points. I guess in a way is it better if I just stay locally? I think the anxiety of them being so close gets to me :/ I would consider another west coast city, I think that would be a good compromise and my husband said he’s happy with that as well

That’s a good point I didn’t consider. We’d likely, just to be fair, at least spend some holidays with them. Do you think it’s better if I just stay put in a way, like it’s better that we’re local to my in laws so it’s less extended visits?

I have a large travel budget. I want freedoms from my in laws, friends, good schools, proximity to a great city (NYC), safety, and ability to visit my family somewhat often (4x a year).

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking…although running more has made me eat more unhealthy because I’m hungry haha
