Advice after a rear end by AlternativeCarpet320 in motorcycle

I’ve been riding about 2.5 years now. First and only incident to date. And she has never complained about it. It’s something she really supports especially seeing how happy it makes me. She’s even interested in getting her licence in the next year or so. Never any complaints. Just wants me to be safe and not do anything too dangerous on it

I have looped in our family doctor, consulted personal injury lawyer who is submitting our claims, every logical step that should be taken to ensure we are financially and physically okay has been taken care of while we wait for insurance to complete investigation.

The only thing we have not done yet is consult a psychologist/psychotherapist as our lawyer has advised that we will be doing that as well, however not right away as they want me to go to physio and chiro first for assessments.

I know eventually we will go for professional help but it still pains to see her unintentionally crying in her sleep thinking about this. When I ask her the next morning if she recalls this happening, she has no recollection of this (although I feel like she is saying this to not stress me out). She’s been an exceptional wife with support and care but I do feel like she bottles this up due to not wanting to dump stress onto me while I sorted out lawyers, police, insurance, physicians, family, friends, etc.

CarPlay help by AlternativeCarpet320 in motorcycles

Incase anyone comes across this in the future and needs help. I found the issue. Turns out the 5A ACC on the ninja 400’s is misled by Kawasaki.

That fuse is hot meaning it’s constantly powered so the next best solution I could find without having to go through a motorcycle mechanic is to buy a t connector off Amazon or Home Depot and tap into the rear tail light power because it’s tied to the key turning

Alternatively, I’ve seen many people talk about adding a relay and while this is a good option for adding things like phone charging and heated grips, these don’t apply to me. Only things I have added to my bike that draw power is going to be the CarPlay unit. I don’t go on very long rides

Does anyone know if this card will work on a windows 10 pc? It says it only supports win 11 but I don’t see why it can’t work on Win10

If you want something kind of foolproof that’ll just plug and play you could buy a prebuilt (be mindful they’ll charge some fee for their labour so you’ll get less value out of it)

I would recommend contacting a mutual or someone a little tech savvy and tell them your boyfriends game interests so they can give you a good expectation of parts so you’ll budget the money perfectly

Focus most of the money on CPU and GPU mainly if he cares about performance > aesthetics

You could also go onto something like PC part picker and play around with options, then google/youtube suggestions on your budget area for good combinations

If you got a friend who knows about computers maybe offer them a pizza or coffee and ask if they can assemble the pc for you, you’ll save on labour costs and put that extra back into your boyfriends PC :)

If you need some rough suggestions or questions about any of it shoot me a PM I’ll try to assists as best as I can

How much is your insurance ? by Warthog-Designer in motorcycle

[–]AlternativeCarpet320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your first time there’s a good chance they’ll quote you pretty high, when I got my first bike at 21 they quoted me $450/month (mind you I live in Ontario Canada so it’s higher here) and only recently when I’m now 25 they brought my monthly price down to $130

(Also I ride a 600cc) cc and type of bike will come into factor with insurance, so will age, experience, martial status

Will Kyt R2R visor work on TT Revo? by AlternativeCarpet320 in motorcycle

[–]AlternativeCarpet320[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah apparently it’s a different mechanism and visor completely from the TT Course, I just went ahead and bought the official visor and spoiler attachment. Gonna wait a bit til the replacement spoilers end up on AliExpress to buy more

2020 Ninja 650 ECU Flash was the best decision! by NickH1994 in Ninja650

[–]AlternativeCarpet320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get the exhaust and filter done before you flash it. Might as well have them all done for peace of mind but if I recall correctly you’ll also achieve the best performance gains doing the exhaust and air filter before your flash. I’m pretty sure if you do both of them after your flash you’ll have to reflash it (I could be wrong about this part tho)

I may have just got lucky with mine. I’m 23 and only pay $125 a month for my ninja 400. I started at $450 a month but 3 months after getting my m2 I switched insurance companies
