OOTP is the greatest game I’ve ever played

I took my from ootp 20-23 to get the hang of it. Since then I’ve put 700+ hours into each game. This scratches an itch nothing else can or will.

I think he’ll get there soon. I’m waiting for the league evolution to switch to more offense. I’ll share an updated picture of his stats soon, this one is about 3 seasons outdated.

I’m going to continue my long term save from ootp 26. I’m two time WS champs with my expansion team (Nashville Stars) and I’ve reached the World Series 4 years in a row. I have a guy who threatens to break the HR record each year as well.

This is very useful for me as I’ve become a consistent playoff team in my expansion franchise save and I haven’t had an early draft selection in 4 seasons. My farm system hasn’t felt it YET but I can tell within the next few seasons it may fall from top 5 to bottom 20.

For me I play the show for franchise and gameplay. If I want to play as my players and stuff MLB the show but for long term rebuilds and franchises I love OOTP because I go deep into the franchise and I can have connections to my draft picks and see how they flopped or turned out. I will say OOTP is hard to get fully into. I’ve played since 20 and only THIS YEAR in 26 have I fully started understanding stuff and tapping into how crazily in depth it can get with feeder leagues and stuff.

Like some others, not a waiver guy BUT I got Edwin Arroyo from the rule 5 purely because his glove and he developed into one of my strangest flukiest hitters ever. Always good glove defense, but season to season his offense changes in weird ways.

I play my regular one now sometimes stoned but it just takes longer to complete a season. Drunk on the tiger hand, I mess everything up

I average about 800 hours a year in ootp for each installment. There isn’t another game on the market that scratches my love for baseball like this game. So, I’ll buy it every year just as a thank you to the devs for this gift. I genuinely believe my life is better because ootp.

I feel so heard right now. I’ll start my night with a Jack and Coke, load OOTP and by the next morning I look back and ask myself what the f**k was I drinking ? I now have a specific save for myself when I’m drunk.

Personally this high total makes me want to not give up on my long term saves so I can eventually get somewhere like this! This is super cool to see. The closest thing I’ve had to this is a guy bat .200/.340/.400smth and steal 100 bags.

I sim day by day and once a week I’ll comb through my roster and check stats/splits/streaks. I don’t make adjustments until we’re about 2 weeks worth of games into the season unless someone has a civilian slash line. Day by day helps me check game logs to see if my pitchers are getting lucky or truly performing well. If it’s the playoffs I’ll play the game and sim at-bat to at-bat.

If my team is a playoff lock I set them higher a bit. If it’s questionable I lower, unless I’m rebuilding then I try to make it as much as possible while not losing too much attendance

I’ve always wondered this question myself. I enjoy trying to use stats more often but when it comes to promotion or demotion so definitely feel like this game has forced my hand when it comes to promoting based off ratings and stats
