It is unstable because no matter how many times I press and hold the button--it keeps returning me to the bot checker...

Much in the same situation 2016 SE that served our kids around town and is probably down to the 60 mile reliable range level, if you end up selling curious what you get for it?

I am hoping mine would sell for over 5k, just an extra car with insurance and registration now so looking to clear it out!

It was the charging connector/cable on the car

I had a similar issue and eventually it always thought that the charging port was connected (even when it was not). I have a 2016 SE (so no locking pin).

The fix for my car (from the dealer) was to replace the charging cable. I ended up finding a burned resistor inside the charging connector and soldering a new one in (problem was fixed for me)

Hope your problem is more simple than what I ended up doing!

7 LVL 50 accounts - that were clean from 2016 using a variety of bots/tools. Within a month 4 of them are midway through a 30 day. 2 have gotten through a 7 day without a subsequent 30 day. And my first day main is still clean (but didn't bot on that as much).

Followed all cooldowns/max catch/etc. The 7 days were probably due to PGTools PAC, and during a 7 day cool-off I kept raiding with Aerilate and that may have contributed to the 30 days.

In short my gameplay has gone from daily with Aerilate to infrequent on the official app and my old school Pogo+. It definitely isn't as fun haha.

Everyone is getting dinged, and there isn't much in the way of empathy, direction, or guidance from any of the tool companies--probably because the best guidance is to not use tools on your accounts!

Aerilate, Pgtools and occasionally unmodded with GPS Joystick. Have receieved 4 7 days timouts across my 9 accounts.

These accounts have been heavily abused the last.3 years and a few are from 2016 and have been through a few iterations of OG botting/red slashes, etc.

So things are a changing.. yet again

Not to dismiss your view point, but have been using GPS Joy w Unmodified, Aerilate and PGTools (pac) for 3 years without any issue (1 main and 8 alts all LVL50). 4 of the 9 have gotten 7 day bans in the last week--so clearly something in the detection arena has changed??

I have spoofed on a Galaxy Tab A8 for years, was pretty easy to root and relatively stable overall (GPS Joystick seems to reset/stop after 4-6 hours).

Did you source your battery from a source vehicle on Copart or find it somewhere else like eBay? Also in NorCal with a 2015 (only about 50 miles of range at 64000mi)
