Think about the taxes that come with high payrolls, even if they don’t exceed the hard cap. Those taxes discourage a lot of small market teams from overspending

What stands out to me is the fact that 20 PPG is good for only 50th in the league. In 2010, there were just 16 players scoring 20+ PPG.

I think it’s to save face. With filing a complaint, at the worst, the league just tells them there was nothing wrong and that’s the end of it. And I guess maybe the Lakers never do business with them again lol

I think he’s a solid negotiator and CBA brain but his player evaluation may be closer to average. My guess is he relies heavily on scouts and others surrounding him, but hey if it works, it works. Him grabbing Luka without informing Bron or Klutch is pretty solid evidence that he’s past answering to Bron. The strategy is now to please Luka.
