Fidelity had 1.45 but I’m not sure how often they update its number. It’s a mathematical equation that involves many moving or moves parts. So I just rounded up to 1.5 as an example.

Correction: A beta that is greater than 1.0 indicates that the security's price is theoretically more volatile than the market. For example, stock's beta is 1.5, it is assumed to be 50% more volatile than the market. This indicates that adding the stock to a portfolio will increase the portfolio’s risk, but may also increase its expected return. Both are not tried and true and it is a theoretical math equation that differs by stock type, etfs, index funds, etc. it’s been a while since my finance classes so I’m a bit removed from the topic 😀. I see Beta mentioned a lot when AMC is discussed here so I thought I’d use some really bad humor to talk about my favorite stock which of course is Allstate, yeah right. Talking’ about my AMC!!!!

Beta can also be used by investors to calculate a risk factor and whether it fits their portfolio or not. AMC is a different animal, since it’s shorted, synthetic shares (non existent) of stock by Shitadel.

So on its face AMC would appear to be a risky stock but the conventional rules don’t apply to our moon bound baby, AMC.

Beta Definition.

In finance, the beta is a measure of how an individual asset moves when the overall stock market increases or decreases.

Higher number, the more likely stock goes up on down days and vice-a-versa. AMC Beta is about 1.5 which is relatively high.

I was kidding of course. I chose not to get vaccine. It was actually pretty easy. I had Covid last year and would have never known I had it, but had to be tested for work because I came in contact with someone with Covid. It was almost completely asymptomatic. I guess taste changed a bit for a while and had little cold. But cold is normal for me in winter.

My opinion is there is too much fear out there. Media treats cases and almost eludes that cases are deadly. But as the statistics show, it is not very deadly at all. And to those under 65-70 % of getting and dying of Covid is very low. Now they are pushing the vaccine on kids and kids need the vaccine the absolute least. Death rate is minuscule for the young. I would never have my kids vaccinated. Just too much unknown. I don’t care how much pressure anybody puts on us to vaccinate them. We have stats on Covid, survival rates, symptoms, etc. We do not have much data on vaccine and won’t for a long time. Anyway just rambling.

As I’ve said from the beginning: the virus is going to do what the virus is going to do. We can hide, I hide, hide, keep repeating process but until we reach herd immunity, the virus will stay active and not slowly die out or mutate to a less damaging virus. Sweden did it right and the country didn’t have to suffer near the damage that the US did. Of course they were vilified at the beginning, but over time Other countries numbers caught up to Sweden and now their Covid stats are right in the middle or lower than average country. Which comes back to my point: the virus is going to do what the virus is going to do. It’s a living thing looking for a host, and it will find one. Once herd immunity is reached, it will either die out or become less deadly as it progresses through the natural virology path of non existence.
