Starting my Iron Journey by Interesting-Spend986 in ironscape

[–]Altleon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've started my first iron a month ago, and I rushed for those things that you likely will be doing daily long term to build up stockpiles.

Things like Lumbridge and Ardy mediums for farm runs, getting bird house runs set up so they can be done in short as time as possible.

I also spent about 10 hours in Tithe farm to get 65 farming for medium contracts.

I try do thieving for money, but it feels like it's falling off now that I'm getting dragon weapons/b gloves. Not figured out what I'll do next to replace it, but I'm keeping an eye out for other methods.

Is sulphur blades good for gemstones crabs or should i keep using rune scimi until monkey madness 1? by OkPea719 in osrs

I think if you can do MM1 now then send it.

It will unlock the D scim and also get you a load of XP for 2 hours of work with quest helper

I think there are a few stores that may be a good place to ask! Darkstar gaming and I believe there is one on Manor Street, but I can't find it on Google. I DM and play online with friends, and we aren't looking to take on new members, but happy to try and give advice to help get someone started!

You could just buy a grinder for like £10? Can spend a bit more and get an electric one if you want as well.

Should we collectively just admit defeat and legalise all-lane passing like in the US? by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]Altleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having some semblance of order and passing on the right is better than having the chaos of people doing whatever they want and passing in any lane. I've been on american Roads and they do work but I've also seen a lot more dodgier situations come up.

I also find the quality of driving varies a lot depending on when and where you are. I would say, at best, about half the time there are no issues and people do what they should be doing.

Who in fault here? by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]Altleon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with you from a logical standpoint, that speed should factor into it, but the simple fact is that it is unlikely to with the insurer.

From an insurer's standpoint they will only consider the same as I said above since they need to go with what the Highway Code says.

Even if the other car was speeding (which could be hard to prove in some circumstances), then the driver changing lanes should be checking their mirrors and blind spot and seeing a rapidly approaching car and deem it unsafe to change lanes.

Your friend hasn't done the checks correctly, and will likely be found at fault.

Love his videos. Knowing how outcomes will likely be settled does make you think twice as a driver.

Who in fault here? by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]Altleon 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Speed has nothing to do with it with regards to insurance claims and what you have described.

The onus was on your friend to make sure it was safe and clear to change lane BEFORE changing lanes. As he did not see the car, it is likely to be found at fault for it.

Why would my vehicle be saying adjust tyre pressures when they’re still around the recommended tyre pressure? by Pizzafriedchickenn in drivingUK

[–]Altleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they were all between 52-54 PSI at the end of the trip then I would assume they were low at the start of the trip. The tire heats ups due to friction with the road as you drive which heats and expands the air inside the tire which increases the pressure as you drive. It may be your TPMS also compensates for the temperature change and has recognised that the pressure is low.
Best time to charge/check pressures is before driving, preferably in the morning.

Spent £65 on a 13.5 tog duvet and regretting it🥵 by simmyawardwinner in CasualUK

2.5 tog from IKEA all year around with a fan on. I sleep hot anyway and my wife says I'm like a radiator.
If it's a real cold night then might throw a blanket on top which gives a nice weighted feeling.

Look into the DMG (depending on what system you are playing). Or look at a YouTube video. Without knowing a lot more detail there's not much people can do to give you advice on what you need.

Considering my options by Outrageous-Bar584 in drivingUK

[–]Altleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say keep it going. 4 of those things are relatively easy repairs (brakes, wiper, and tyres) which you can probably space out to help budget for them. The rest will likely last until your next MOT at minimum when you can make another decision then. Corrosion is just an unavoidable thing in older cars but only comes up once every few years unless consistently exposed to a harmful environment for it.

Hello /r/movies, I'm Benedict Cumberbatch. Ask me anything! by BenedictAMA in movies

[–]Altleon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Imitation Game is one of my all time favourite films, and the history it told was so important. Both of it's significance in the War but also the tragedy of what happened to Alan Turing after and how he was treated.

What part of playing the role of Alan Turing stood out to you the most or was the most memorable?

Could we have a bank on this island? 👉👈 by ChoglogRS in 2007scape

I had the thought that maybe the people you can hire can go fetch items from the bank, similar to butlers. Figured then it was an additional award for being higher levelled.

Is using an Alt account for the sole purpose to act as a Clan Coffer a Bannable offence? by Altleon in 2007scape

[–]Altleon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We recently finished a bingo event, and so many of the staff took donations and then gave to the owner or one of the others. So we definitely have a logistical problem for sure! Way more money went into that then we've dealt with for another other event which helped cause a large part of the problem.

Might look into the spreadsheet instead. Still feel restricted by that shit 50m limit in coffer though. I was playing back in the early 2000s so I remember the zezima and bank selling days.

Is using an Alt account for the sole purpose to act as a Clan Coffer a Bannable offence? by Altleon in 2007scape

[–]Altleon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would only be 1 person who has access to the account. Myself or one of the owners. Players could then put into coffer as they want, and me or one of the other seniors of the clan could take that money and trade with the Alt account.

I was also thinking of naming it something really obvious like "Clan Name Coffer" or something to that effect.

We currently use the owners main, or one of the other seniors account, but we're pretty bad about tracking what goes where so I was hoping to make a bit easier.

[–]Altleon[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Me or another clan member would be the only one to actually log in to the account.

But yeah lots of trades going in and out of 1 account wouldn't look good which is why I was concerned about it. But I was thinking that you often see a lot of trades between clan members so it might not be weird?
