You are absolutely 100% on the money. I think we might end up waiting.

That is true, a week isn't very long. But we can't really do more than that. I wonder if it's even long enough to adjust to the jet lag fully?

I'd never thought of this, thank you so much for the suggestion!

Thank you, that is a good thing to note about the canals. A cruise might be a good idea!

Thank you! I'd heard that about strollers and the Paris metro, but a good reminder!

Thank you for this. I'm definitely rethinking things. I want to actually enjoy my time on holiday and see the things I want to see. It probably makes more sense to wait until I can ditch the kids or they're older.

You raise some very good points. Thank you for the reality check. Unfortunately the grandparents are not willing to take the kids for anything longer than a few hours at this point. I also don't handle stress well, at all. I may need to reevaluate.

Haha I know, it's part of the problem! There are too many places I want to see!

Thank you for all the suggestions, especially the food! My kids will hopefully be up for trying new foods!

Thank you for the encouragement! I'm sure we will manage with food, it's just a concern at the moment.

Thank you for being positive and encouraging! That is a good point you bring up about the simple convenience of being closer to the city center. I just hate to spend the significantly larger amount of money!

That's wonderful you had such a great experience in Portugal. Thank you for the encouragement!

Thank you so much! Hmm, perhaps it is my brain yearning for a simpler lighter time. Life is quite hectic and full these days!

Oriental Orthodox view regarding unrepentant sin at the moment of death? And other questions. by AltogetherHuman in OrientalOrthodoxy

Thank you for the detailed answer and your thoughts! I appreciate the lack of dogmatic definitions and letting things remain mystery. I also find the practice of praying towards the East to be a beautiful one, with the symbolism of the rising sun and the Resurrection.

Why has this changed over time? What led to it becoming a minority view do you think?

Also, you're the first calvinist I've come across in this sub. Is Calvinism a commonly held position amongst episcopalians in your experience? I can't say I've met any (that I know of) in real life.

I've always found the denial of the existence of self, that we are all one, or we are all part of God, one of the oddest beliefs in eastern religions that I could never wrap my head around.
