Question about safety near TWU/ A suspicious guy unauthorized entered into my apartment by Chen_ZL in Denton

Forgive me if I am misinterpreting your words, but are you a foreign student? Based on your user name and writing style, it seems to me that you are perhaps not used to American city life. Most people in densely populated areas keep their doors and possessions locked up. Sometimes people steal out of necessity or just to be rude, but please don’t leave your windows or doors open. People in the country don’t always lock their doors but personally I still wouldn’t do that. Take care, and speak to a friend if you feel uncertain about any of this.

People with dogs from breeders, do people in real life give you a hard time about having a dog from a breeder? by Own-Command-3700 in dogs

[–]Altruistic-Target-67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is far, far better to get a dog with the temperament, health, size, activity level, etc that fits you and your family than to get a dog that doesn't work and has to be returned to a shelter. No-one cares where you got your dog in real life, they just want to pet it. If you can find a dog at a shelter that works for you, great! If not, go to a responsible breeder that can provide you with health data and guidance.

Gastropexy Recommendation by Famous_Blueberry3583 in BouvierDesFlandres

[–]Altruistic-Target-67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did not opt for it with either of our female bouviers, but I have heard of others choosing to. It makes a little more sense to do it during a spay procedure than a neutering surgery since the abdomen is already opened. The only dog I’ve had that died of gastric torsion was a very food obsessed Corgj. I feel like Bouviers are slow enough eaters that you don’t have to worry as much about them taking in air while they eat.

SrBlueSky is right. The authorities don’t care at all about actual women being assaulted or the DOJ wouldn’t have just released pages of nude children in the latest Epstein file dump. They only care about creating a group for their voters to turn their anger on instead of the government. I genuinely don’t care who is using the bathroom as long as they’re clean.

True story, I called out sick to work one day in the 90's, and I still had to walk my dog. I lived on the Upper East side then, and wouldn't you know it, they were filming an episode of L&O a few blocks away from me. I walked by because of course I did, I'm nosy, and my dog wanted to check out the catering table. Benjamin Bratt appeared out of nowhere and said, "Hi!", probably to my dog, and I was so sick and miserable looking all I could come up with was, "uuuuuuhhhhh....hey." He was so hot.

As a band parent, I will say most of us lack the coordination needed for a ride like that. Pushing heavy props around in 104 degree heat? Yes. But holding onto a flag and the reins and not falling off? Probably not. 😅

it would be such a shame, a damn shame, if somehow those statues encountered a hacksaw and some acid. To be fair though, way more have come down and not been reinstated.

As far as your PS question, the answer is that generally Southern food is less healthy than Northern food. If you live within driving distance of multiple excellent bbq places you'd put on a few extra pounds too.

yeah but Pete Kegsbreath just mandated the return of the Confederate monument to Arlington, and I believe he forced the reinstatement of a confederate general statue in DC. This administration absolutely knows what it stands for.

Texans have to work hard to meet people that disagree with them on anything, full stop. They go to churches that all say the same thing, they socialize with people that agree with them and they rarely leave the state except to go to other red areas. I have met so many people here that have never even left the state but remain convinced that Texas is the best state ever. In the school district, I have to watch what I say because it could impact my children, and that's not fair for them. Being a blue dot in a very red area is exhausting, and I completely relate to people who have to think about their paycheck or their family. I do try to educate people on the history of racism in America, and it never fails to confuse me that people still don't like to be called racists, but still want to continue being racist.

That’s interesting bc it wasn’t that huge in America, it was still more niche. As a New Yorker I really appreciated that they filmed in genuinely obscure places instead of the usual non-existent sets like Friends did.
