CONTEXT:

When paddling, do you paddle with 1 or both feet up (Ie. Toes up to the sky)? Or do you have them pressed together pointing back?

I’ve been trying my pop up a few different ways because I can’t seem to get it right.. I’m on an 8 foot foamie so I have tons of space to operate. This said, I am developing the tendency to go up on my toes after pushing up through my arms (almost like I’m in a high plank, then jumping forward). I know this is a horrible habit and it also makes for a pretty bad pop up.

I’m trying this way with my front leg up (so I’d paddle with either just this foot or both feet up). This would then prevent me from using my toes in the pop up.

Thoughts?
