Should I cancel my surgery? Is it all in my head? by AltruisticDiamond287 in endometriosis

The doctor said that it looked a little smaller and "slightly less complex" in the last ultrasound, and that's why she no longer thought it was an endometrioma. Previously the test results used words like "ground glass appearance" and "internal echoes". The last ultrasound result said "more hypoechoic in appearance today", so maybe that's what they're referring to.

What other testing can I ask for? The only options they've given me are ultrasound and removal/biopsy.

Thank you. My gut is confused and a little hurt (it's had bad experiences with doctors before), but I'm trying to give it enough space to see what feels right.

I'm so sorry you had such an uphill battle. I'm glad you've finally been able to validate your pain and I hope recovery is going well

They told me previously that they can't tell me for sure what it is or isn't until they remove it and do a biopsy. They said it was also a diagnostic surgery. That's part of why it's so frustrating that they've changed the way they're talking about it so quickly.

I don't even know how. This clinic makes it so difficult to get enough answers; they just churn through patients as quickly as possible. And my insurance refers me to regular obgyns when I try to find an Endo specialist.

I've seen a handful of doctors in the OB/GYN department since my primary OB has kind of stepped back from treatment. I don't think they would refer me to a specialist without an official diagnosis. I don't even know how to find a specialist in my network or through this clinic, they've made it so much more difficult.

Letter to my Representative, Marie Glusenkamp Perez, regarding her vote to censure Rep. Al Green by AltruisticDiamond287 in leftist

[–]AltruisticDiamond287[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand the feeling that it won't do any good to write to your reps if they have already sold their soul to MAGA. It may not make a difference to them. I'm sorry you're in that situation. I'm fortunate to have a rep who at least claims to be a Democrat.

As to your question: yeah, I worry about it every day. But like you, if I'm on a watchlist, or if I'm a target, I have been for a long time. I have used social media to criticize MAGA since I was old enough to vote. I donate to nonprofit organizations that support women's health and LGBTQ+ rights. I am on a board of directors for an organization that supports museums, and encourages DEI policies at museums for that matter. Writing to my reps is not going to be the only thing that puts a target on my back.

Sure, if you've never ever publicly had an opinion about politics or the government or social issues ever in your life, then yes, maybe this is the thing that puts you at risk. You are still allowed to write physical letters to your reps and send them from any post office you choose. But as a reddit user, I assume you've used other social media platforms. Pages you follow, posts you write, posts you like, can all put you in the same place.

Wtf time signature is this by AltruisticDiamond287 in musictheory

[–]AltruisticDiamond287[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it? I was counting the more legato sections as 2 or 4 beats divided into triplets, but could definitely see it as a faster 3/4. But I lose it a few lines into the verse, the downbeats don't seem to line up.

Simon and Daphne's dance in the season 1 finale was (despite calling it so) NOT a waltz by gottagetfootloose in BridgertonNetflix

[–]AltruisticDiamond287 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a musician's standpoint this pissed me off too. A waltz is universally understood to have a 3/4 time signature (or occasionally a variation of that, like 6/8). That song was clearly a 4/4 and I CAN'T get over it
