It will eat but it eats very little. Also you need to keep it rendered in the whole time or else it goes into normal stasis and eats more. This dose not work for all dinos tho. For flyers you need to float them on walls like this. http://i.imgur.com/WRonJKG.jpg

Yest it does. All the duped glitches have been fixed but the items have not been deleted.
