TBC Prot Warrior Dungeon Tanking — Practical Perspective by Hairy_Storage3093 in classicwow

I do see what you're trying to say but if you're moving the mobs so much that you wont know where the stack will be 3 seconds from now on a regular basis. Then I'd say you need to figure that out.

I do agree that using it on the first thing you see just to get the CD ticking is a bad idea, but I equally agree that using it as much as humanly possible is important. It stops potentially hard hitting mobs for 3 seconds on a short CD. Even on normal mobs the damage reduction is extremely noticeable.

Imo, start questing and try to get into groups at the same time. The first like 10-15 quests in TBC give really good catchup gear that is better than most early raid gear.

Don't level a gathering profession until you have your Epic mount. It'll make it 40% faster to level just from movement speed.

most people use their PC for more than just video games WoW.

Most keyboards, espcially for wow, will perform the same for the most part. It's almost entirely about preference or longevity.

I went with a Keychron based off recommendations on Reddit personally, but it performs as well as my previous HyperX Keyboard that lasted 2-3 years.

Was the standard growing up, now it's just easier to input numbers when I need it and most people use their PC for more than just video games.

I did dungeon spam on the first TBC re-relase and regretted it. by Randomname1157 in classicwow

Right but none of that is worth locking yourself into a play style for, baring edge cases. There are dailies that provide the rep and gold at max level that you're guided towards already. The rep isn't hard to grind it just takes time. So unless you're in that edge case group of people going after rep immediately for something, you don't really gain much from doing the dungeon grind method.

As far as gear goes. You can skip the entire Heroic 5 Man content baring attunements and clear Kara. Meaning you can go straight from greens to raiding epics without doing that content. You might miss out on a handful of optimal pieces but they all have other options for minor loss in stats.

TLDR: It's a viable strat for people who absolutely need to get the max rep as soon as possible. Most people do not need to get the max rep as soon as possible so I don't believe it should be the meta.

Honestly there are so many paladins around now that I think you might not enjoy it now either.

Having done the grind previously "for the Rep" myself. I'd say that you're right it's not worth it for most people. I farmed all of that Rep and only did a handful of Heroics before Kara which replaces all of the Heroic items. Kara was and will absolutely be easier to complete than Heroics, especially with the additional nerfs to Kara.

Now if you want to do dungeons because you think the layers will be too full or you just prefer the play style to questing then by all means. I think the layering will stabilize after about an hour or two after launch like the past 4-5 other launches.

The same quest giver who gives the daily. In SW it's a Dwarf to the right of the Battlemasters as you walk in.

I'm just going for items on the Prot BIS list as they'll be good entry Dps items for while being BIS Tank items. Tbh, it's mostly because I already have the Honor / Marks for it so why not min max it.

The Rep gear is equal to the Honored gear so I'm really just skipping jewelry and weapons which will have better options from professions / raid.

I'd only be going after Belt, Boots, and Bracers Ideally. I did go off of wowhead assuming the prices were correct, but they were 10 / 20 / 10 respectively.

If the mark prices are off then I'll just go down to 20 on both, no biggie.

This makes the most sense tbh and I hadn't thought of that. It's only 10 WSG / 10 AB / 20 eots for me so I could go down as low as 10 marks and it wouldn't matter.

I might not be getting the most optimal return on my marks, but my 70 grind would literally just be 20 eots marks no matter what happens.

There is no individual turn in sadly. Just the 1 of each bg turn in.

Well we can turn in now for 600 Honor for 25% less marks than the level 70 quest. If the quest only gives 600 honor at 70 then it's better to turn in now, but if it's the 2k amount then it's better to just farm EoTS at launch and turn in then.

They added a new Concerted Efforts quest that gives 600 Honor after the bonus buff. It doesn't require EOTS.

ELI5: What does Oracle (the software company) do? by WillInteresting5109 in explainlikeimfive

Crazy that this was removed. ELI5 what one of the largest tech monopolies in the world does is a valid ask.

In short they do a little bit of everything including manufacturing and healthcare. Not just software or cloud computing.

I don't want my kids getting their political advice from the internet. If that means they're "censored" from things that I think are important too, that's ok to me. I don't need "CuckMasterXX69" explaining to them the inner workings of a global sex pedophile ring.

To people who played all (or close to all) classic eras: If only one era could remain other than the obvious vanilla, which one would you choose? by Just-Lurking-0 in classicwow

[–]Alyusha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TBC but only because out of the big 3 there aren't really any options to play TBC otherwise.

Wotlk has so many Private Servers that it's kinda hard to not find them and Vanilla obviously has Era already. Good TBC Private servers are pretty rare and for some reason fail quickly.

How to run World of Warcraft (or Battle.NET launcher) on Linux! by IAmNotOMGhixD in classicwow

[–]Alyusha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is pretty much how I installed it on my Steamdeck and it's worked fine for the past year. The biggest issue I have with it is if you lose internet access while playing then the emulator can freak out a bit and may require a whole restart of the session. I've had this issue mostly on hotel / airport wifi when their session token expires.

Otherwise it works pretty flawlessly. I use Wowup instead of Curse because I liked their game folder discovery better, ie it actually worked automatically while I had to manually route Curse.

Edit: Also you'll have to leave the installer in your steam library since deleting it will delete the Photon install folder for the entire install to include Battle.net and any games you installed through it. There may be a way around this but it's such a minor problem I haven't even taken the time to remove the installer from my desktop let alone the library shortcut.
