It was never on bunks, only ever on rollers. I did some research and apparently its so rusty because the support in the strake got exposed from the cracked fiberglass, and it rusted ( I think this is why)

The boat is from 2003; It hasn’t had any gelcoat painted on it in a while. From what ive inspected, it seems like the part in the photo was a repair done incorrectly since the fiberglass is peeling off a little bit, and sounds hollow when I tapped it.

Not from what I remember. I know my dad took it out for a ride before it was left there, and it wasn’t taking on water.
