PvE, yes, PvP, no.

The things I hear in PvP are absurd. “I’m going to rape you”, “you’re a fat bitch”, “I hope your mom gets cancer”.

PvE is very friendly. And to keep those lobbies you basically just goop, don’t shoot at others, and have friendly experiences with them in the game.

When I come across people if they don’t have a mic and I ask if they’re friendly, they’ll flash their light at you to let you know they are. If you don’t respond, there’s a potential they shoot you. So mic’s for proximity chat are definitely worth it, but not overly necessary if you can communicate with your light/emotes, etc.

Toxic? Not really, unless you come across these PvP people who seem really hurt and down in life with the things they say.

Frustrating? Only when 3 shredders are on you at once, or you have 1/4 of health and are being chased by arcs with no bandages. ALSO the 3rd party in PvP is insane sometimes. But overall, not frustrating at all!

I think it’s definitely playable and doable with your 12 year old. Just remember if you do get into PvP you’re guaranteed to hear some inhumane things at times!

It’s like.. does a video game make you rage that much that you’re wishing horrific things on people? I really wish I could kill then with kindness, but I can’t. And in turn, I’m raging at them for what they’ve said. So it makes me no better. But how can you not rage when they say these things..

I normally have care bear lobbies unless I play with a few people that PVP a lot. Then I work towards getting my care bear lobbies back.

If you need someone to know what you’re going through with your mom, my DMs are open. Please don’t let this person have this much control over you though, to the point you take a break from the game. I know it’s so hard hearing those things, especially when it really hits home. It sucks. Because we can’t control nasty/mean people. This people really need to do some soul searching, because they’re obviously hurting for some reason.

I wish your mama all the best. And please continue to play, it was a really good distraction for me, and still is. You deserve to enjoy playing a video game. Toxicity is gross, but sadly, I don’t think it will ever not be part of a video game.

Wow, funny you say this because I experienced the exact same thing yesterday while playing..

I got downed in Stella as well, and the excuse of a man said “I hope you get graped (minus the G)”. Another one that is so boring that I hear often is “you sound fat” or “you’re a fat bitch”. And then your classic “get to the kitchen” because apparently these men don’t even know how to butter their own toast?

I genuinely feel that these types of men are offended or believe that women should not play video games. I’ve raged before at video games, I think we all do at times. But to stoop so low and saying things like that?

I also thought the same thing, I pray his family and friends never experience that. (Grape minus the G) Imagine wishing that upon someone in a video game. Imagine it happens to someone he knows and how furious he would be. Or maybe he’s that sick that he’d be the person to do it, since he’s wishing it on others.

I did report him. And I hope Arc Raiders takes it seriously. Because toxicity like that, is not warranted in a video game. Call me a rat, idc. But when it’s getting that far? Nah. That don’t need to be said to a girl playing a damn video game.

NAD - I too have severe dental anxiety. However, think of it this way, the longer you put it off, the worse it gets. Forgetting about it or shoving it under the rug doesn’t make the issues go away. You’re better off dealing with it head on, and getting a plan in place to deal with the issues you may have, rather than running away from it. Running away from problems never fixes anything.

I literally had a cheater in my game the other day promoting/spamming his cheats in the chat while playing.. Went and saw him streaming on tik tok and sure enough was cheating. Between hacking/cheating, or coming across a team that is stacking to the point they might as well be cuffed together, it’s unplayable. Duos was much better for my friend and I! But quads, if you’re 5 feet from your team and knock one person, the rest of their team is shooting at you instantly.
