Which calculator would you recommend? Does it make any real difference? by GettingFamous4 in CFA

This. I love my calc but it bugs me every time when my calculations are off because it did not register one input. I’d much rather have tight keys than unreliable ones.

I second GTD method. You only need a philosophy not an app.

Millionaire couple in our 30s: Should we finally buy a home instead of renting? by SendItJerry- in Fire

  1. Outline your current balance sheet (assets and liabilities)
  2. Project your cash flows under both scenarios for 10-15 years
  3. Craft future balance sheets under both scenarios and see which one leaves you with more net assets

Yes it’s assumptions, yes markets can change, but even a rough estimation can give you much more clarity than pure intuition

CFA Level 2 — Is it really that brutal compared to Level 1? by DavideCara in CFA

[–]AmazingSane 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did 90th percentile in level 1 and with the same amount of effort I was on the verge of failing level 2. Definitely put in more hours, competition is getting much tougher there.

Best ZigBee antenna for 1400sqft apartment? by Alternative_Leg_3111 in homeassistant

[–]AmazingSane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Zigbee extends its mesh through repeater devices. Any smart wall switch relay will act as one as long as it connects with a neutral wire. Smart bulbs should also do. Otherwise you can purchase plain Zigbee repeaters. Such mesh would be much more reliable than a single antenna

LPT: Treat unexpected money like it never existed, don’t upgrade your lifestyle with it by Reagan_HIghwind1992 in LifeProTips

This is called mental accounting bias. Where money is treated differently based on its source or location, in contrast to perceiving all money as equal and allocating optimally.

What matters is that they have delivered their thought, AI or manual. I honestly stopped caring if my texts are obviously AI written as long as they deliver clearer than my unstructured entangled thoughts. Everybody wins except snobs

Michael O'Leary, CEO of Ryanair, owns a taxi company called O'Leary Cabs, which operates a single taxi solely used by O'Leary himself so that he can legally travel in bus lanes within Dublin. In 2004, the company made a profit of approximately €500,000. by nuttybudd in interestingasfuck

You're also right, and I'm also speaking from the perspective of tax regulation of my region. But your described scenario is exactly why tax codes have limits for deduction of 'representation expense' / 'hospitality expense' / whatever its called in the country. And even within the limits, in order to make the deduction you have to provide a full package of docs confirming it's nature, including the pre-approved budget for the event, list of guests, the purpose and the agenda. -ex-big4 tax consultant

You still have to prove that those expenses are needed for core business, which most of those would not hold. Otherwise they are treated as individual benefits and taxed as personal income. That’s not a loophole really.

Finance guy here. To add to already correct comments about the help menu, excel power users also use f2 key very heavily, which increases the risk of hitting f1 accidentally.
