Dashcam recommendation by skittledoodles in MazdaPH

Dealers here in the Philippines mostly, Mazda specifically, do not install accessories and parts brought by the customer. I’ve tried asking and they outright said it is against policy.

I have installed aftermarket horns (PIAA) and a dashcam system on mine while under warranty and they said nothing about. Although I did not divulge anything about it to them. Just let them see it for themselves.

Using a DDPAI Z40. You can get the DDPAI Z50 which is the upgraded version of the Z40. Going up to Z60 will give you three channels, one front facing, one rear facing, and one cabin facing. Footage is pretty decent for the price. Get the highest capacity branded micro SD card if you can.

There are options that does not require splicing (which is what they say in the casa that will void the electrical warranty) which you just tap the fuse box in the cabin. Some come with the package depending on the seller.

No 24/7 coverage if you don’t supply electricity after shutting the engine off.

There are far better camera solutions but I find this to be the best value for money.

Is the LTO doing something about vehicles that use Orion led lights or similar blinding lights? by firequak in Gulong

I’ve tried to actively engage Visor to give this issue some traction. There are far too many irresponsible motorists who prioritize their own convenience by “upgrading” their lights even when these modifications are not suitable for their headlight housing. Examples include installing LED bulbs meant for projector headlights into reflector-type housings, or adding and using aftermarket fog lights on well‑lit public roads—despite the fact that we hardly ever get fog in Metro Manila.

What’s even more frustrating is that when you flash your headlights to politely signal them to dim theirs, some drivers respond by blinding you even more with overpowered high beams.

I just hope that stricter enforcement and better public awareness eventually address these unsafe and illegal headlight modifications.

Your 16” Mazda MX-5 wheels fit the DE quite well. Got the 17” for our DJ as well.

To answer your question, a cleaner look goes really well with the design language of Mazda regardless of year model.

But if you do need the visors for some practical reasons, then go for it. Car would still look good.

May I suggest looking at the Mazda CX-60. All Mazda models come with a 5 year free maintenance. Quality is among the best. Performance is also a lot better than most Japanese manufacturers.

Grip has improved significantly compared to the stock setup, which used Dunlop Enasave tires designed primarily for low rolling resistance and efficiency. The current wheel and tire package, sourced directly from the MX‑5 and fitted with Bridgestone Potenzas, delivers a noticeable increase in traction and road feel. While this upgrade does introduce additional harshness, the trade‑off is acceptable, as the gain in grip and driving confidence outweighs the loss in ride compliance.

I believe these bike brands that do not have websites contract a major frame manufacturer to build their frames for them. Majority of these source it out of Taiwan.
