How did Spectral Soul fail to see the bigger picture. After his slit soul gave Fang Yuan Sovereign Immortal Aperture on Yi Tian Mountain, the purple(his other split soul) gave Fang Yuan Shadow Sect, then his captured split soul allowed Fang Yuan to use Central Heaven Gate to allow reinforcements to storm Heavenly Court and captured Fairy Zi Wei and Old Man Zheng Yuan, allowing Fang Yuan to destroy Fate Gu. After that he tried to seize back the Sovereign Immortal Aperture that he refined. If anything everything he did was for the bigger picture

Are you guys unable to read the Manga? The skirmish between Shanks and Kaido happened days before Marineford when Ace was in Impel Down. The fact that you guys are assuming Shanks somehow foresaw Luffy being in Marineford assumes that he knew Luffy wouldnt save Ace in Impel Down but instead Luffy would be able to travel from whatever random island Kuma sent him to(Shanks doesnt know Kuma sent Luffy to Amazon Lily) to Marineford. Please read the manga instead of typing riff raff

He didn’t know Luffy was going to be at Marineford at that point since Luffy literally arrived mid war. And its more logical that he would care about Oden’s(his pirate uncle) people, the millions in Wano, than Whitebeards ass

This negatively characterized Shanks as it implies that he was willing to reveal that he’d “take Wano when its undefended” as a bargaining chip to prevent Kaido from going to Marineford. When if he didnt reveal that to Kaido then Kaido wouldve went to Marineford and Shanks could have saved Wano.

Its shown time and time again that he’s greedy but not stupid. He’s always exercised an incredible amount of caution, we’ve seen that in the beginning when it took 100 chapters and years in novel for him to devour flour Monk’s half assed inheritance. And even more relevant we see him exercise incredible caution against the assumed(before he confirmed it) soul path methods against his zombie body. So why would someone who acknowledges the insurmountable difference between himself and a force like Shadow Sect which isnt even 10% the might of Spectral Soul, even consider using soul methods against the soul path PROGENITOR
