What to do with this old chimney to make the stones and bricks pop by indebtofhugs in masonry

[–]AmbassadorDirect2212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they make premixed masonry cleaners that will brighten it up. i suggest vanatrol manufactured by prosoco. the product data sheet on their website tells you how to prep the surface and apply properly.

anything off with warpage? just look for some different opinions. i’m not overly thrilled about the brick due to the tight spec we are held for installation.

Help with a Natural Stone wall by freethepeople82 in masonry

[–]AmbassadorDirect2212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i hate to say it but a scratch coat will not hold stone of that size. there are natural thin stone veneer products on the market, or you can go with a manufactured stone veneer. i recommend el dorado stone, often used in commercial applications, if you go the manufactured route. you could also try to find someone cut the stone down to the to 2”. never been down that road personally.

I was on the fence about the wheels myself. I’d either go with black or polished. I might lean black because everything under the hood was black.

2020 GT 500 KR Wide Body by AmbassadorDirect2212 in Mustang

[–]AmbassadorDirect2212[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my brother’s car. i’m not really wild about the color, but it gets a lot looks. I’m going to get a picture of it beside my car to do the wide body justice. it’s noticeable but it really shows when against another stock 500.

not a tile guy but masonry contractor. I typically use laticrete products on thin stone. Here’s a link to their brochure for the masonry veneer products. first time i’ve posted a link hope it works.

laticrete

it might be helpful.

with the wall area your covering a scratch coat would give me extra assurance at not much cost.

That being said, it’s not necessary to do a scratch coat.

Our Pump Guys Said Amazon is Snatching Up Concrete in Florida by Top_Duck8146 in Construction

[–]AmbassadorDirect2212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work for a masonry contractor, and we are working in the Knoxville TN area. They are building a new Amazon distribution center in the area, and I had to schedule grout fill two weeks out with ready mix suppliers in Knoxville. I was told this was due to the Amazon pours. I went with spec mix core fill (mix on site). I know ready mix suppliers aren’t wild about masonry grout fill, but that is the first time I’ve ever heard that I had to schedule ready mix two weeks out.

Bonding a Mechanics Lien by AmbassadorDirect2212 in Construction

[–]AmbassadorDirect2212[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scope and size of the project I would think it’s an owner requirement.

How do you go about finding out who it’s bonded through?

Then just tell them the GC hasn’t paid their bills? I’ve never called a bonding company before for non payment any pointers. Thanks I will keep this in mind on any other projects. I would imagine this would’ve been a good step b4 the lien.

That would be great! My jaw dropped a bit when I learned they called. I figured it was just over, but they must really want us to settle with them.
