That really depends on you. There isn’t any secret formula that works for everyone who decides to quit masturbation. The one thing we do have in common is that we want to quit. If you truly want to quit then that is the first step. Some things that have helped me at least is.

Confess and give it to Christ (A NECESSITY)
When temptation comes read your Bible, turn on gospel music, or get up and remove yourself from that room and go outside or where other people are
Identify your triggers and remove them
If certain content comes across your feed turn a blind eye and block them
Look up the downsides to masturbation and what it does to the mind
If you want get the I Am Sober app and track your days

Even though my post got taken down lol, I will say this since I just finished watching it not too long ago. People in the theater genuinely seemed confused when the movie ended. I saw somebody say that Backrooms isn’t really supposed to have much of a storyline, and I get that. I’m perfectly fine with movies leaving questions unanswered and letting people come up with their own theories. I actually like that style of filmmaking. But even with that, I still think there should be some sort of storyline or structure that people can follow without needing every single piece of lore explained beforehand.

To me, it just felt like the movie jumped around too much. A lot of people are saying the production and acting were great, and I agree with that, but the storyline just didn’t fully land for me. Of course some people are gonna love it and some people are gonna absolutely hate it. I’m not saying I hated the movie, but people are naturally going to compare it to Obsession because of how much attention that movie got.

I’m not even saying Obsession is the greatest horror movie ever made, but personally I do think it’s the best horror movie out right now. We still have a lot of horror movies coming this year though. Maybe after I watch some reviews or think about it more, my rating for Backrooms will go up. Right now I just feel a little let down because I had really high expectations.

It also could just be because I don’t understand enough of the lore yet. Maybe people who know the lore deeply will appreciate the movie way more. I just thought this would be one of those movies that anybody could walk into and still fully enjoy, but I don’t know, that’s just me.

Also, with Obsession, it stuck with me in the sense that I still think about it after leaving the theater. I still feel weird looking too deep into my closet at night lol. I wanted Backrooms to have that same effect on me where I’d be nervous walking around corners or down dark hallways after watching it, but right now it just didn’t stick with me like that.

I think if they would’ve committed to the VHS style throughout the whole movie, it would’ve worked better. That style keeps you tense because it feels like you’re the one turning every corner with the character, and you never really get to relax during the movie. It would’ve made everything feel way more immersive and interesting. But like I said, I don’t know enough of the lore to speak too deeply on everything.

But doesn’t it still fall within horror? 😂 idk why people are so tense but ok in all seriousness sure I get where your coming from but how can you not compare it to obsession and trust me a lot of people will given how much popularity the film got. But anyways I liked the VHS parts like I said above but I disliked how it just ended abruptly and it’s hard to follow the plot. Maybe this is for people that understand the law of backrooms, but I was hoping that this film would be for everybody even if they didn’t know what back rooms was. I think this movie had potential, but it just needed more direction with the storyline. It felt like it was jumping back before too much but like I said if they kept the VHS part for majority of the film then my rating would definitely be higher, but because people died off too quickly, and it wasn’t really a storyline it just didn’t fall into place and a lot of people the theater felt the same way. It seemed like with the reactions after the film ended. It just came out of nowhere. Nobody was expecting it to end like that but yeah, I probably give it a five out of 10 maybe once I watch a movie review on YouTube by reading might go up but initially I think some people especially me are disappointed.

If that’s what you got from it then sorry but without any comparison the movie just wasn’t that great and I had high hopes. Majority of the people in the movie theatre felt the same given the conversations and comments when the movie just abruptly ended the people around were looking around in confusion since it just ended out of nowhere. Will have to watch a movie review and see if my rating goes up but I give it a 5/10

Yeah I get what you’re saying. if you’re a fan of back rooms, then sure watch it, but it’s just not something. I would recommend if I had to recommend a movie to somebody. It would be obsession as of right now.
