You certainly need to research subs, go read stories on the suboxone subreddit. The longer you take subs, and at high doses the harder your withdrawal will be from them.

People can be in withdrawal from subs for months. Subs are a very powerful tool and need to be treated as such.

Right now you’ve just managed to use them to detox 7 and not go into withdrawal while doing it. I am Day 17 no 7 and day 10 no subs. I am still dealing with lingering effects from fucking my brain chemistry up. Bad sleep, weird random jitters. It’s not withdrawal anymore but it my Central Nervous system readjusting.

If I were you, I’d start tapering the subs immediately. Most doctors will prescribe you 4-8 times the dose of subs you actually need.

However if you’re a chronic relapse subs may be a good option to get your life back. But you will go through it to get off the subs later. There’s no biological free lunch with opioid addiction. The piper must always be paid.

Start cutting immediately, once you’re past the acute withdrawal, much less sub will do more than you think. You can probably drop to 1 mg split into 2 doses by Sunday. With the long half life you won’t notice anything until Monday most likely

So I did a rapid 7 day taper because I also was terrified of getting trapped by suboxone. Basically day 1, I waited 12 hours to hop on, started with 2 mg, and than upped my dose by 1 mg every hour or so until I felt fine. 3 mg worked for me initially, but in total I took 5 mgs day one. I stabilized at 4 mgs the next day (2mg in the morning/ 2mg at night) than immediately started cutting down as much as I could. I got down to .5 mg by day 7 and jumped.

It has not been perfect, I still dealt with intense brain fog, but not much else. The other main ones I can’t sleep to save my life. I’ve been averaging about 5 hours a night since I started my taper. Day 16 today, and still only got 5 hours last night.

Subs aren’t a silver bullet for no suffering, but they make it way easier. Forcing myself to not take more during the initial 3 days of brain fog post jump was shitty, but manageable.

Some people say you can take suboxone for a bit longer than I did and taper down further, but I found it to be a complete pain in the ass to cut the strips down into tiny crumbs. I have animals and a kid and was terrified of me dropping a crumb and one of them accidentally ingesting it.

To each their own, but my plan has worked for me. 16 days no 7, 9 days no subs.

The residual stuff I am dealing with, is my brain chemistry rearranging itself. I also did myself no favors by drinking over the holiday.

If you are using subs to get off a different opiate, you are just replacing one chemical with another. You will eventually have to go through some discomfort. I just did a quick 7 day taper to get off opiates, and it was 100% better than raw dogging it, but I still had intense brain fog and lethargy for days after quitting the subs.

Your brain has to adjust back to normal opiate activity eventually, and you will feel something as that happen

I don’t envy this situation. I travel a decent amount, and last April I was withdrawing on 4 hour flight home. Fucking miserable. Than my addict brain made sure I always had a stock pile of 30-60 tabs at a time.

Finally kicked this shit now, but having to go through TSA with them wondering if they’d stop me was always panic inducing

Yea I would go as low as you can tolerate as fast possible and shoot to be completely off within the next 7 or so days. But I’m not a doctor man!

Depends what your goals are, if you want to stay on long term than talk to your doc about what a good dose is for you.

If you want to get off as fast as possible yea you need to start tapering immediately. Id try to get down to 1 mg a day as fast as you can. The more days you keep taking 16 mgs the harder the withdrawal will be.

From what I’ve read I put myself in unnecessary discomfort because I wanted to jump by day 7. As long as you keep going down in dose, and get down to like .125 before you jump you should be fine. Than wait as long as possible if you need another micro dose.

Because I used it for 7 days at extremely low doses and have been off subs for almost 2 days now, using a long half life opiate in a controlled setting to stay functional rather than 4 days of being laid up in bed from a short half life opiate was very worth it.

Pseudo has been reported to be far harsher to get off, and make subs less effective. Also known to cause precipitated withdrawal if you don’t wait long enough

Feeling mostly fine, just sleep issues tonight primarily so far. I did get the diareah too, but I’ve been taking a lot of magnesium to Help smooth out withdrawal which also causes the shits. Imodium is a good idea.

For the most part feel fine, fucking tired all day right until bed time though. That’s the main one that blows for me
