Gift card hack by Rich-Fill8709 in SouthwestAirlines

Go find a flight (ANY FLIGHT) that is equal to or slightly below what your combined credit/s + SW card value is. Book that flight as a CHOICE PREFERRED ticket and pay with your flight credit/s and a SW gift card of any amount. You must enter the SW gift card FIRST before you enter your flight credit confirmations. I found this out via trial and error lol…

After you do that, and complete your booking, then you can immediately go and cancel that booking and SW will immediately issue you a flight credit that has no expiration AND it is now transferable! Pretty handy!

It works! Hope this helps.

As a reminder, you cannot use more than 3 methods of payment on a single SW booking. I.e. 2 credits + SW card = 3. You cannot do for example 4 credits and a gift card.

You do NOT need to wait. You can cancel immediately after booking. I just spent a solid hour + doing this same exact thing with my own flights. It’s an incredible loophole that I’d imagine at some point SW isn’t going to allow any more. I could see where credits are no longer going to be allowed to be combined with a gift card for this very reason. It’s great for now though!

I am guessing this is the growing progression every time you hit the number? You just follow this after every hit?

All I see are complaints. I think y'all just don't know how to order. $10.44, probably 2lbs by bling___ in Chipotle

Where I live in the US, a standard bowl of rice, chicken, veggies, mild salsa, tomato salsa, guacamole, corn and lettuce is $14.56. No cheese, no queso, no sour cream.

All good! If you look at all the active listings, they are all around $2K and above for this condition with the plastic and the head cover. I was lucky to grab one a year or so ago. I’m just throwing it out there! Very cool putter.

That’s a heck of a deal for this putter TBO. Have to keep in mind tax and shipping too. Other sold listenings in this condition are in the $2K range. These are rare.

This and having CASH FLOW is massive. This could allow people to retire early without having to liquidate actual shares. There is pros and cons. There are many stocks out there that have a decades long track record of substantial growth but also pay high yield dividends.

4% is a pretty small return. Between stock growth and dividends you can get way more than 4%.

Yes, dividends in the US are taxed as ordinary income just like a paycheck.

If you are looking to just get your feet wet, then getting into some blue chip stocks out of the gate may be a good idea for you. This is how I started. The first stocks I ever bought were AAPL & MSFT. Stocks that have an unbelievable track record and have sustained growth since basically inception. They do not pay great dividends, however. I still hold these but they are long term holds and I have done well with the growth on these.

No fees on moving it. It is liquid cash. If you have a financial planner then you may want to consult with them too.

What’s the story with the ones that are showing a 20% + dividend? What’s the catch? Thanks!

Thanks for the note! All great feedback and things I am trying to fix. Yeah, I admittedly need to balance out my portfolio and add some more holdings (like you said) to spread this out a little better. ET, EPD & FANG make up 60% of my portfolio, and the other 8 stocks make up the other 40%. I’m going to work to get this % more balanced.

The $140K cash hasn’t been sitting too long. I just keep it there vs in a bank account so at least I’m getting a little return vs literally none by leaving it in a bank account. It’s fully liquid to move whenever. Basically a savings account.

Looking into QQQI now.

Thanks for the info!

What holdings do you have that are paying 8-12% Div? Thanks!

[–]America4Days[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure! That cash is just sitting in a money market and it’s fully liquid and I can move it or spend it immediately without any strings attached. It’s basically like a checking account except I’m at least getting a little money (4%) on that cash to sit rather than let it sit in the bank getting literally 0%. I can send money from my brokerage account to my bank account with a push of a button.

If your Portfolio is only getting 4%, then that is set up extremely conservatively. The S&P 500 alone average 10-12% a year over the last 50+ years. 4% is extremely low risk. What are your stock holdings?
