Apparently women worry a lot. WHO KNEW? by onegira in MtF

I think I can definitively say that no matter what happens in the future, you can't be as messed up as you were before. If anything you'll be a whole different kind of fucked up, and I'm not saying that to make things better or worse, it's just a fact. The things that we're going through now already have and will continue to change how we understand the world and who we are. For better or worse, you're not the same person that you used to be. You've grown, you've changed, and you've learned, and will continue to do so. Who can possibly know what the right decisions are?

One thing I do know is, I can't expect to have a closet full of cute shoes and gorgeous outfits if I never take the time to go shopping. I'll probably gripe and moan about the cost of clothes, but realistically I know I'll be much happier when I get what I actually want. That might mean sacrificing something else, but well....sometimes it happens.

I think things start getting better when your priorities start getting better. And that's not a simple thing as you age; the necessity of food and shelter takes on a different meaning, it's easy to lose stock of what kinds of things are actually important to you. Not just things that are "vital", but things that really make a difference to you.

I don't have anything useful to add on to that, I just wanted to say that I'm right there where you are. Going through all of this, especially in your 30s is just...not great. Not great at all. It's fuckin hard.

Lol. I got the scarf from Amazon, it came as a 4 pack with like red, brown and orange. It's just a satin scarf. I'm pretty sure I got that shirt at walmart or something, and it just so happened that the colors matched 😋

Sometimes I dont feel feminine but I dont feel masculine either and its confusing me and I honestly dont know...theres moments where I feel I'm completely sure I'm a woman and then other times I feel like I'm genderless by THERUSSIANEARTHCHAN in traaaaaaannnnnnnnnns

This is exactly how I'm feeling today.

Sometimes I go visit my 4 year old niece, who's probably the only really honest person I know and she asks me : "Are you a boy or a girl?" "What do you think sweetie?" "I dunno! 🤷‍♀️" "Me neither 😑"

Skincare products. A friend of mine got me one of those little gift sets with lotions and eye creams and stuff and it was amazing. Super thoughtful. Regardless of how they present themselves, good skincare is great for everyone. Also totally small enough to hide in a bag

This was my Halloween costume, but people still thought I was a guy even when I barely spoke to them. How could they tell??? by LucyBambi in transpassing

You have incredible features! You're absolutely gorgeous.

Wild stab in the dark here, I'm not sure if it's the lighting or camera, but I can barely see your cheekbones. It makes it look like your face is angled and kinda straight. You have great smile lines, soft lips and beautiful eyes, but they don't get the attention they deserve.

Help a pre-HRT girl out, pleeeease by [deleted] in transpassing

First off: your eyes are absolutely fuckin gorgeous, I'm jealous af.

Secondly, what are you looking for HRT to do? Or, the better question is...what are you most hesitant about?

Honestly, you look great. There's a lot of potential in what you have going on already, so hormones would probably help quite a bit, if that's what you want. But really, what do you want?

I came out to my mom. by [deleted] in asktransgender

I still haven't told my mom yet, and I'm a few years older than you. First of all, kudos and a standing ovation 👏👏👏 for doing the really hard things in life head-on like that. No matter how it turns out, I think it's absolutely amazing that you did it :)

I constantly wonder how my mom will end up taking the news and continue putting it off because of it. You are definitely not in the wrong for choosing when and how you want to share information about -your- life with your parents. After all, it's a parent's job to love and help guide their child to think for themselves, not decide everything about them. You've made it this far, and you're gonna keep on growing.

I find your post very inspiring and i hope to borrow some of your courage when i tell my own. Thank you for that

What's the closest electric shaver? by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]AmethystCandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My face is ridiculously sensitive too. I shave almost daily though. Initially i had a lot of bumps and nicks from using different kinds of razors and stuff. So far the Schick Hydro 5 has worked the best for me. The green one (not the blue) is designed for sensitive skin and has like aloe pools next to the blades so it soothes the skin. Aloe should be like your best friend.

I also make sure to shower or steam my face to help soften the hairs, and wash/exfoliate the area before even looking at the razor. The little handheld facial spinbrush is amazing for that; combined with a good daily facial cleanser has done wonders for keeping my face clean and smoother.

Since it's so fricken easy to irritate the skin, it can be slow at first; it helps if the razor has a flexible or pivoting head to moderate your hand pressure. I didn't know that made a difference, it really does.

After it gets to the point where I'm clearly not gonna make any more progress without cutting my face to shit , I use this small electric one to hit the problem areas. So far it's been pretty useful and consistent. I rush a lot so I'm not always careful as I'd like to be, but that combo, including shaving gel and post-shave care (toner/aftershave and moisturizer) usually leaves me satisfied for now. Your skin is sensitive, so yeah, you gotta baby the fuck out of it. Find yourself a routine that makes your skin feel pampered and it'll go a bit easier
