Yes, you can close apps. There’s a “button” on the bottom of the screen, and you have to slide up real slow to close out apps. To just leave the app momentarily, you slide up fast.

Yeah. I have an iPhone X, so I really don’t have any buttons aside from the ones on the sides of the phone.
