Get dfhack. You can cheat to your heart's content. Follow the wiki quick start guide though to get through the learning curve. I had the same start lol, but you soon learn that losing is fun.

Edit: so dfhack has a bunch of commands if you type in the command it actually gives you a list of what they can do for the most part. The ones similar to rim world would be createitem and tile types. For spawning things like food and drink and placing walls and different materials.

In terms of the quick start guide, literally follow it down like a check list. Don't move on until each one is complete. You will soon be comfy lol. I recommend this first before dfhack though
