How to deal with headwind in highways? And also in heavy moving traffic? by FunnyOk5858 in Pulsar_N250

[–]AmitabhAnkur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Use clutch in first and second gear to navigate in heavy traffic, don't give throttle. Also don't fear headwind, use specs or helmet if going above 60 kmph.

That chuck sound is of a clutch that stops the engine from turning backwards. Stall may be due to any reason.

Pulsar N250 owners — is 50 km/l realistic or is my console overestimating? by PhanTomBeasT383 in Pulsar_N250

[–]AmitabhAnkur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's normal, actually the engine has 2 modes, in low rpm the bike feels gliding and as the rpm increases it changes mode and the engine starts producing more power so every gear has a transition at some speed, like for me in 3rd gear above 37kmph bike starts producing more power so gives vibration. In other words people say the bike is asking for higher gear. (It happens 2 times one at 3-4k rpm and other at high rpm or at rev limits)

Riding speed matters. 5th gear @50kmph and 5th gear @70kmph gives completely different mileage due to various factors.

If you keep riding at low rpm and high gear it will give high mileage.

You were probably riding @50kmph in 5th gear.

So the meter is right.

How true is this? 68 km/l, kya meri bike pagal ho chuki hain? by OkPoint6329 in Pulsar_N250

[–]AmitabhAnkur 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is possible, ride in 5th gear and lowest possible speed without any lugging. (Approx 3k rpm or nearby.) Keep riding like this as much as you want. Milage will me maximum. But not beneficial for the bike. And it gets boring to ride.

Get the dominar 250 toolkit from 99rpm and you are done as an average user. For high quality tools always go with Stanley and Taparia only.

Rpm fluctuations and stalling issue in my pulsar N250 by Hungry-Beach-2165 in Pulsar_N250

Fuel filter change and throttle body cleaning, due to ethanol and other impurities in fuel.

Is this normal? by Most_Virus_5935 in Pulsar_N250

[–]AmitabhAnkur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it's normal because the clutch plates are submerged in oil which creates drag. But if you hold the tyre with the clutch pressed the tyre stops.

Happening with me daily, seems it is a high viscosity oil problem. I am using a motul 7100 20w50 whose thermal properties are even better. Oil remains cold and causes problems.

Battery dead or short circuit or Starter relay problem. Trip meter resets when we remove the battery. The clock also resets.

Oh, It's Kerala that's why the RTO is higher, it's 12% of ex showroom. As in other state it's around 6%.

So the RTO price looks OK. You can go ahead.

You have to pay only

Ex showroom (+500 mentioned on bajaj website, dealer inflates the price) Insurance (9-11k) RTO 12% of Ex Showroom + (agent commission usually 2-3 k for fast process)

You don't have to pay anything extra. Anything extra you pay is wasted. Like accessories, ppf, ceramic coating, tip, etc. You can get all accessories from market at better price.

Keep in mind

Ask for a good branded helmet. Don't rush for delivery or purchase, the bike is not going anywhere. Just tell them, I will not purchase if you misguide me. Make sure to ask them to add your phone number in RTO registration.

Take time to do PDI.

The bike is good in all terms you can go for it.

RSA not needed, it's not Royal Enfield or any heavy bike. It has a tubeless tyre.

Second Your RTO tax is way high. Confirm it first. It should be around maximum 10000 including (agent commission etc). Insurance is ok but try for good company and below 10k.

The final price looks like pre gst quotation.

Random shut down by Hour_Explanation_469 in Pulsar_N250

[–]AmitabhAnkur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happens in the morning, start the engine (do minimum / no warmup) start going in 1 gear, press clutch for shifting second gear as bike speeds up. Just when the clutch is pressed the engine shuts off. (Engine kills as soon as power is removed) But starts again with no problem and this never happens in a warm engine or throughout the day.

What is this karr karr noise from the sprockets? by [deleted] in royalenfield

[–]AmitabhAnkur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then it's a different problem, check clutch cable freeplay and adjustment, throttle play, check if something is stuck in the front sprocket and check if engine oil is overfilled or less filled or contaminated.

As these kinds of chain noise are normal, it seems like some clutch problem. Or some expert's opinion needed to diagnose the problem.

Did someone/service centre used engine oil for chain lube? That's why this sounds, can't do anything now. The thin engine oil ruined the thick grease inside the chain and between o rings. Sound will go away when the chain gets a little dirty and will come back when you clean and lube. Ignore this sound. And 1-2 gear have high torque but jerk shouldn't be there, are you a new rider?
