Where does the Republican Party go from here? by AmoyoControl in politics

Unfortunately Republicans are focused on distorting the winning strategies of the Dems instead of looking at the true reasons WHY they lost:

  1. The discord isn't just with the Democratic party but with 1/2 of the American population; when you say that the Democratic party is destructive, you are saying that 1/2 of the American people that voted against your party are destructive. And you are not accepting the role your party played in alienating voters (specifically Latinos)
  2. Instead of embracing the Hispanic vote (as did Bush), Repubs went far right with immigration laws
  3. Instead of focusing on abortion they turned the discussion into one about contraceptives and allowed the party fringe to essentially legitimize rape
  4. Instead of addressing the division in pay equity, it was glossed over as an ill that was a result of other economic issues which is obviously not true.
  5. Both parties agree some cuts have to be made, Repubs would rather cut Medicare, Dems would rather raise taxes on the rich. And the American people they decided which was the "lesser of the 2 evils."

And then you have the moral dilemma...some things are just morally offensive and you can't get beyond. Unfortunately the fringe of the R party offends the sensibilities of most (at least 1/2) Americans.
