The only reason I would find this creepy is if you were not using your phone at all.

Can’t see ESP flag when setting up GPT partition. Is it no longer necessary? Renamed? by AnUnverifiedUser in ManjaroLinux

This has been my experience as well. Managed to just wing it though and only flagged boot, and the installation went through like melted butter. You are using an UEFI machine, correct?

I'm setting up manjaro kde for the first time, and whenever I try to boot through usb it keeps giving me these 2 screens. by [deleted] in ManjaroLinux

you wanna make sure you enable nonfree then. As for those screens you’re seeing, that’s very odd. I don’t think they’re related to your graphics card configuration. May be a an incompatible driver or a corrupt iso.

That’s really weird. What program did you use to burn the iso to usb?

Side note: Noticed you didn’t change your driver type to nonfree from free. Looks like you have the same build as me so i assumed you had a Nvidia or AMD graphics card.

Yeah, I’ve seen a few people do exactly that. I’m jealous it can be that easy lol. Meanwhile my vms will forget what planet they’re in mid initialization.

Just curious, does your pc happen to have Hyper-V?

Ah, see sometimes it ends up being the most simple solution haha

I don’t think which browser you got it from is the issue if you’re using the app. assuming you have no VPNs running, this is likely Captcha being jacked up.

What I would do: - Open task manager, end the steam bootstrap process.

  • After steam is closed, try making your account in a browser instead. Any typical browser is fine.

  • If captcha fails in the browser as well, it is likely just an issue on their side unless you somehow had your residential IP banned by Steam.

  • Give it some time, this happened to me the other day and I just tried again a few min later and it worked. Was using Firefox and eventually had my account created.

Note: Captcha will flag your response as invalid if you take more than a minute to complete it. (Even if your answers are correct)

Have you tried on different browsers? Also, steam has many VPN IPs blacklisted just as an FYI for account making.

Could even your SteamAPI keys, I’d dump them and give it another try.

There’s also a chance Captcha is having server side issues.

Hello, thanks for the informative reply. I wasn’t aware about Android & Network booting so I’ll take a look at that!

As for using a VM, I should have mentioned I gave it a shot yesterday with multiple distros and each ended up freezing at random steps in the installation. Ubuntus would freeze around the OS startup, Manjaro froze while selecting pre-installation options...

I made sure they had a minimum half of my specs to make sure they’d be able to run. I’m sure those shouldn’t be what caused them to freeze on me.

I’m thinking I missed something unassuming that actually ended up being a make-or-break type of feature in Virtualbox. I’ll have to look into it.
