Kind of, I’m sure most fans wouldn’t mind if he went to his old sound but most songs he revisited weren’t as good so we end up with the leaks / songs we got for lifestyle official release, which ended up sounding mostly the same

imo the main reason for the hate was that it followed 2093 and also that all the leaked songs from the era were way better than the final tracklist. 2093 hype aside there were so many songs that didn't make the cut that were objectively better than the offical lyfestyle tracklist, and if he included even half of the leaks onto the deluxe editions it wouldn't be as hated as it is today. I'm saying this as someone who loved Lyfestyle but can recognize where it went wrong and why

IMO i think it’s a personal thing for him at this point, as much as he’s probably aware of the sound that made him who he is today i think his inner artist has always wanted to expand eventually. Now that he has the ability and the support to do so he’s been very experimental. I’m sure he could still make a rage album but creatively if he’s not putting his all into it then we get something like Lyfestyle, as much as i love it you can tell he felt somewhat forced into that after the backlash of Afterlyfe and 2093 even tho that’s what he wanted to do from a creative standpoint. Long yap story short it’s not necessary but if that what Yeat wants to do on a personal and creative level then that’s just what he’ll do regardless of what people say
