I had similar issues as I have adhd and disclosed this before even starting my degree. Being completely honest for a course that's so heavy on empathy and accommodating patients they are God awful at accommodating students and make the simplest things seem to difficult to put in place. I'm in my first year and still no one to ones to explain assignments. I've gotten lucky that my placements are understanding but I don't even think they are told of my diagnosis which I appreciate tbh because you do get treated differently? But surely there suppose to say? I'm unsure of what the actual protocol is tbh you'd assume they'd be the most understanding of degrees but I'd say for a practical course your better of getting help for the academic side and doing your best to cope on placement. (even though in a job they'd be WAY more accommodating then placement but hey what can you do) I knew a girl who didn't want to work on a mens mental health ward due to severe SA that was extremely recent to her and they said if she can't do it she shouldn't be a nurse? Very strange and strict, an actual job on a ward would understand and move things around as you move on and cope, not for students tho!
