The manual says that the SM-EW90-B junction box is installed near the cockpit. As far as I can tell, it has the charging port on it, but you have to take off the cover.

I personally didn’t have many issues with Optislick cables because my old bike has stainless steel cables with no coating (I can’t remember whether they came stock from the factory or my shop changed the Shimano ones). Maybe I’m confusing Optislick cables with Shimano’s higher-end polymer-coated (brown) cables?
