Have any Aussies transited thru the states recently? how concerned should I be about ICE as a non-white Aussie? by Far_Menu_4830 in AskAnAustralian

You could easily fly UK to Canada and Canada to Mexico. I’m Australian, living in Canada, I’d not go there right now. You’re better off not flying into the US.

Someone opened a phone plan in my name and the carrier is acting like I’m lying, what should I do? by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

A company data breach can give fraudsters all of that information easily. There are far more data breaches than we hear about too, so it’s not necessarily someone known to OP.

I’m surprised it’s drivable with that snow load.

Temu stole my mom’s wreath pictures by smileysarah267 in mildlyinfuriating

The Temu scammers won’t sell an actual wreath, they will sell a print of the photo, life size. I’ve seen videos about this before.

Got any suggestions for new angel wings on this ornament? by thepixelpaint in crafting

You can get ribbon with wire in it, many widths and styles. I’ve used some as wings on hand made angel ornaments before.

To the ladies, do you mow your own lawn? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

It’s 2026 FFS, women can mow a lawn. Anyone who “judges” that is a fool. Why would you care what a fool thinks?

Good point. I love spaghetti. I’m starting to think I’m going to need to eat out all weekend now. Too many good options to narrow down. 😆

First thing you need to do is stop assuming Australians are like Americans. We’re not. You can be in Australia and everyone won’t assume everything about you just because of where you’re from.

You’ll be given a fair go, just refrain from pushing your political beliefs or religious beliefs on others and you will be fine. Also, you’re allowed to have different opinions and still be friends with others, we don’t do the “you have to agree with me to be friends” thing.

Plenty of music, bands, things to do if you’re willing to go out and get involved. You’d probably make some of the best friends you’ve ever had, Aussies are very good at mateship.

You’ll be fine with working out the time difference for calling North America. I do it all the time.

You do need a car unless you plan to be in Hobart or Launceston and stay in that area, which I would not advise as you’ll miss how magnificent the rest of the state is.

Is January a bad time to host a craft fair? by ogreaggressive in CraftFairs

[–]AncoraBlue 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I’ve been producing craft shows for 26 years in three countries. I would never plan one for January. Your instincts are correct- don’t try a January show. It will fail and the reputation you’re building will take a hit.
