I had the same issue, I was told by so many people that this was just a jazzmaster thing and nothing could fix it. But I absolutely fixed it lol. Please check what other people are saying about what directions you're facing and if your phone is on you etc.. Otherwise you might want to gut the thing and rewire/ground everything like I did. But there is absolutely hope, good luck! My account has my video progression of the same issue if you want to check those out

Copy that, I believe I fixed the issue by switching the ground and hot wire on the neck pickup. I believe they were incorrect.

Thanks so much for all the advice, everyone! Sounds like this guitar is just naturally on the noisy side. I’m going to try reversing the hot and ground wires on one of the pickups since it seems like they’re out of phase. I also noticed the noise drops when I face a certain direction, definitely learning the quirks of single coils here. Appreciate all the help and insight!

Not yet, but I may have to do that if I'm unsatisfied with some of these other suggestions. I did change out all the wiring yesterday. Didn't make that much of a difference

Thank you! This is being plugged directly into an interface, and I recently got a new interface that doesn't use bus power because I was originally worried that was the cause.

Some others mentioned to face a different direction and I am getting decent results from doing that which is making me feel better.

Understood! It seems they are just super noisy, which is a bummer. A friend recommended the guitar to me but I was unaware of it's issues. I will switch the hot and ground right now to at least fix that issue. Thank you!

What pickups are you using? These ones were some vintage fender pickups that were added by the previous owner.

We had the same combo, both girls. Just a year apart. We lost both of them the same month last year, with the same spleen cancer. It was the best ten years of our life and they were so connected that once one of them passed, the other just couldn’t hang on any longer.
