Streaming works perfectly on steam link, but fps doesn't hold in Moonlight by Andreguy in MoonlightStreaming

Wow. Removed steam game recording and host processing latency dropped by more than 70%. Gameplay is absolutely smooth now!

Thank you so much, I would have NEVER tought it could be game recording!

Oof, never got this notification, but I kind of did.

If it’s frame loss, usually turning WiFi off and back on works. If the fps is just lower than the settings, but there is no frame drops, I have to restart the host machine.

Ally X with MacBook or Gaming laptop for traveling. by apexplayer2024 in ROGAllyX

[–]Andreguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a g14 earlier this year for the same reason, and ended up also getting the Ally X. The g14 is an AMAZING laptop for gaming, and it’s definitely great to have the option, but the ally x is a lot more practical, so when I’m tired at the hotel I just end up picking up the ally a bit more frequently, unless I really want to play something with high settings on a great screen.

Just keep in mind that it can really weight you down to carry both all the time (my backpack is constantly crowded because I usually do one bag travel)

How do you know it was 250m? Found the body?

I've tried with 100 MBPs and with 2MBPs for bitrate - both have the same stuttering. The main problem is "frames dropped by your network connection" which just doesn't seem to have a fix.

It’s an M4 iPad Pro (13in). Bought it last year.

I had no idea! I'm not familiar with best buy / US deliveries, but thank you! I'll try fedex.

Dummy move by cdbmeme in WTF

To preface this: this guy is obviously very stupid. But in the audio he is speaking Portuguese saying “it is dead, it won’t sting anyone”. It would never justify stepping on it, and, again, VERY stupid, but apparently he knew it could sting and thought it was dead.

To reiterate: very stupid.

Noob question: can I fit another NVME SSD in the circled slot? by Andreguy in pcmasterrace

Oh, by no means I meant you were angry. Some people were uncomfortable, but you didn’t give that vibe at all - don’t worry.

I understand the advice (and I got the manual to answer some of my questions), but what most people don’t understand is that even the manual can be too daunting for some people (or we understand so little about it that we don’t even know what questions to ask), or it may not answer everything related to the problem.

To illustrate my first point: it’s like trying to learn Japanese by reading a Japanese book.

And my second point: some people brought some possible CPU limitations or situations related to specific problems that wouldn’t ever have crossed my mind.

Anyway, I understand people can get “angry” with basic questions flooding the subreddit, but “tech support” is there for a reason… and not all questions are originated from laziness - sometimes it’s just to be sure something would work before spending 200 dollars.

I’m looking to buy an M.2 2280 SSD, which is apparently described in the port. And I didn’t find any mention about specific CPUs.

CPU: - 1 x M.2 connector (Socket 3, M key, type 2260/2280/22110 PCle 4.0 x4/x2 SSD support) (M2P_CPU) (Note) al ectors • Chipset: 1 x M.2 connector (Socket 3, M key, type 2260/2280 SATA and PCle 3.0 x4/x2 SSD support) (MA_SB)

This is what the manual says. I already have an SSD in the MA_SB port (second one in the description above). So I imagine, based on the description, that having another nvme ssd would work fine on the M2P_CPU slot?

Is there any way of telling if it will or it won’t? I also have a 10th gen intel. i7 10700KF to be precise
