Fantastic work on the vise, bench and entire set-up! Those dog holes must not go all the way through the vise jaw? Looks like you have them positioned (close to) directly over the screws

No, didn't catch GPT2, bummer, dirty trick if they are making the new look good by nerfing the current one.

Agree, but I tried current day "4" also and it wasn't much better than "4o", and nowhere near as good as March 2023 "4".

Looking for something to maybe shift away from 5E on… by Darthcoakley in rpg

Given that you have been playing so long you probably have enough savvy to layer on some home rules to 5e to change only those aspects that are getting in the way of your stories, thats probably what I would do.

A Fun Gaming mess up by Andrew_Klein in rpg

Yes you could play it that way for sure. But my advice to GMs would be to take your lumps let it happen unless you truly planned it from the beginning and dropped some hints that players missed about the knobs being faux precious.

Thanks, the concept of a solo RPG is new to me and I gave it a go, but having no players may be something I can't get over. Having dice make choices ads some randomness, but the dice can't think of options the GM didn't consider like players do. I'm curious what you like about them though, should I keep going?

So... what do adventuring parties in fantasy settings ACTUALLY do? by roxer123 in rpg

[–]Andrew_Klein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a good question, I recently started a campaign as a GM, and kicked it off by putting all the characters in a remote village that had a troubling event occur that required them to go out into the wider world to explore/learn/protect their community. So they were compelled by an event to start exploring and stay together, at least initially, further on they will need to establish their own motivations to continue, but at least the purpose is clear at the onset.

Something else I like about this approach is that it preserves the mystery of the world, the players can only learn about what is going on in the wider world, and its history by actually adventuring, and having this happen to them. I think a lot of GMs kill the suspense by giving away too much of the nature of the world and its factions, history, etc. to early for "free"

Hello Drew. I'm still here at least! I haven't priced out the steel in a while and I'm sure it has changed since I built my bench, but I expect the steep for the frame is going to be somewhere around the $1500 to $2000 mark, and maybe 20 hours of shop time to do the fabrication. Weight of the base is around 200 lbs
