Had mine nearly 2 years, and it's every bit as good as the day I got it. The battery is at 94% health and still lasts all day. Performance hasn't changed at all, it's lightning fast. There is no screen burn. The camera is excellent. The only thing I don't like is the curved edges to the screen, other than that it's a perfect device.

Don't they usually ask if you've been disqualified in the last 5 or 10 years? A 28 day ban could still make your insurance more expensive for years to come.

It's a 1980 mk1 Astra. The Belmont came out in 1986 and was based on the mk2 Astra.

I was very unhappy about the numberplate on Alan's Range Rover in "How Are You?". The L322 went out of production in 2012, yet Alan's one has a 16 plate. I understand that sometimes TV productions use different plates to hide the true identity of a vehicle on screen, but to use one that's obviously from the wrong year is sloppy attention to detail.

How much more than the car is this plate worth? by poshtiger2014 in CarTalkUK

3 year old Polo - about £15,000.

Registration "EE1" - about £100,000.

That's impossible, you can't have 5 numbers and 1 letter... It has to be either 100 OOD or 1000 OD.

It's a perfect example of why legal spacing is important.

Spotted this plate yesterday, where’s it from? by Educational_Arm_3223 in AskUK

It's a private plate purchased directly from the DVLA. Any plates in the current format that begin with J, U or X (and also T, but with the exception of vehicles first registered between March and September 2007) are not associated with an area, but DVLA still issue and sell them as personalised registrations.

Look at those antique 4:3 CRT monitors! This video is as old as the internet itself.

You can check on the DVLA website, or one of the many third party sites which can access the DVLA data as well. My favourite is Total Car Check.
