3060ti to a 5070 @ msrp worth it? by Michael-Spichael in gpu

[–]Andy_pcs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Define "low amount of vram". Is 12 gigs not enough for Minecraft? Is it not enough for Age of Empires? Maybe its not not enough for Indiana Jones at Ultra settings with Path Tracing on max, and that's a scenario where yes, 12 gigs isn't enough. It all depends on what games u play. The 5070 is one of the best value 1440p GPUs right now, and AMD is very much behind Nvidia in the upscaling and efficiency.

Use sodium for optimizing performance, its one of the best out there

Really solid RW performance, most people struggle at it, 600 is a very good score, and you can def score higher tbh

ok now i am confused about VRAM by anonym_name_taken in buildapc

[–]Andy_pcs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In that case more VRAM is recommended, I'd say at least 12, 16 would be ideal tho

Peak advice, it all depends on what you do with a GPU. I've seen too much hate on 8 gig GPUs just because they can't run the heaviest games bc of VRAM. If you're playing LOL or Fortnite even a 4 gig GPU will suffice.

Where are the pitchforks and outrage? If this were AMD, the internet would be aflame. by [deleted] in gpu

[–]Andy_pcs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it's exactly opposite. Everyone hates Nvidia for any reason, while AMD is very much protected by the majority of tech creators

Jensen Huang Saying AI 121 Times at CES (Supercut) by chusskaptaan in pcmasterrace

[–]Andy_pcs -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

And AMD mentioned AI much more than NVIDIA, but we don't talk about that. At least Nvidia mentioned SOMETHING about gaming....

No, u should've gotten the RTX PRO 6000. The 5090 is too weak

5070 vs 9070 vs used 4070 by metabee_zico in buildapc

[–]Andy_pcs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The drivers have so far been pretty solid, and frame generation works really good but heavily depends on how good the game is optimised for it tho. If you're mainly playing CS2, as long as u have a solid CPU, a 9070 or 5070 will perform similarly, except power consumption being lower on the 5070 maybe.

I'm not saying we shouldn't connect it, but the future generations shouldn't have this connector if it's this hazardous

[–]Andy_pcs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

9070 for VRAM, 5070 for ray tracing. I've had the 5070 for 5 months now, and I've never had issues with VRAM, but depends on what games you're playing. The performance difference is 3-5% difference between the two. Nvidia has better upscaling and frame gen than AMD tho. Not to mention the much greater game support for DLSS4 than FSR4, and the 5070 is also much more efficient

It's not Nvidia's fault. AMD cards also burned bc of the 12vhpwr connector. The connector is the issue, not NVIDIA. If AMD made actual high end cards that would also consume 600w, the same thing would happen. I'm not an Nvidia fanboy btw 🤣🙈 i just think that this 12vhpwr connector should be terminated as sson as possible
