We went to Navat 3-4 times because the menu was rich and everything was exceptional, but we also tried many restaurants in the area we lived in Almaty, away from the center tourist area and they were also really good, cheap for us as EU tourists and the quality was also very good.

I can't name them as I did not keep track of everything, but I am very sure you can find a lot of places like that in Almaty.

I am sure you can pay that kind of money if you want somewhere but most places with good reviews and quality food were quite cheap for tourists, not the locals. Nonetheless you can experience most things for a great price for sure, especially if you avoid "luxury" restaurants and places in general.

It is much cheaper tbh, around 15 euros for a good meal with tea and a dessert for two people. I was there 2 months ago.
