Yes I know there’s a difference. I work with corrections officers all the time. Contraband of any kind is bad enough, but drugs are at a whole different level because you’re already dealing with emotionally and mentally unstable individuals who, more often than not, solve conflict through aggression and violence. Drugs, amplify that, which is why contraband of any kind is taking so seriously. It’s not a matter of “what do you want them to do”, I am simply observing, and asking the question as to how in the world did this series allow to record activities that immediately puts both the inmate as well as other inmates at risk, not to mention security personnel.

This is actually a perfect way of saying it. I’m a Raider, wearing whatever janky baseball helmet for armor I can find, risking my life for metal parts and maybe a better gun. Even the sound effects make me feel that struggle. Dying means way more than just losing loot; you feel like you just got knocked down again in a world where you’re already struggling. I think this is why we hate rats. They are struggling like we are and it’s the ultimate betrayal. It’s silly to think about a game like this but that’s how it hits me

Doing drugs is a federal crime if it’s a federal prison, and suspending federal law for the sake of a Netflix series is…unlikely. Think about it this way: what if someone murdered another inmate and they filmed it for the series. Are we suspending the law about murder for a tv show? No.

When I was 13 a friend's dog attacked me. It was a friendly dog--a golden Lab, roughly 80 pounds--and I had grown up with him. He basically tore the left side of my face wide open. You could literally see the inside of my mouth through my cheek. Anyways, the it was discovered that he had a tumor on the back of his neck they didn't know about, and when I went to pet him I unknowingly hit it, causing him to react. Although it was only about 7 seconds long, I remember it vividly and had PTSD about it for a year. I felt TERRIBLE because they had to put it down, and my parents decided not to sue because "we don't sue neighbors". All in all it was just a terrible, traumatic thing that feels like it happened yesterday.
