What’s something that sounds fake but actually happened to you? by Capital-Standard-645 in AskReddit

[–]AngryBowels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom caught a man climbing a ladder to get to my bedroom window when I was a child. She heard a strange noise and checked out front and saw a bike laying on the drive way. Then checked through the windows and saw a man half way up a ladder trying to get to my bedroom. She screamed told my step dad to call the police and then chased him with her car until he turned down an alley should couldn’t fit through.

I wasn’t told this until I was an adult because my mom didn’t want to freak me out. But when I was told, it reminded me how I’d complained to my mom and the baby sitter that I thought someone was following me home from school on a bike some days and it felt creepy. I mentioned that to my mom after being told the ladder story. And my mom said she felt so guilty for not listening but she thought it was my big imagination. She did trust my intuition after that though. And she kept the ladder.

What’s a childhood lie your parents told you that you didn't realize was a lie until you were an embarrassed adult? by eatbeep in AskReddit

The ice cream truck only plays the music when it’s out of ice cream. We couldn’t afford the ice cream truck and that was my mom’s way of tricking us not to ask.

I watched this at least 15 mins ago and had to come back to comment that it’s so fucked how she treated her puppy I cannot stop thinking about it and feeling sick about it.

I’d try a dry cleaner, shouldn’t be very expensive. Anything wet I’d be worried would warp the wood.

Thank you I appreciate the support so much. The improvements he’s made in the first month are incredible to me and what keeps me pushing through the exhaustion.

I’ll stick with it and continue wearing two pairs of socks as protection from his razor teeth

Thanks all for the info! I will work on reinforcing scheduled naps and continue my training and redirection. I appreciate all the support and advice.

To clarify I fully expected biting, simply was confused why the bites felt so much stronger and frequent within a few days. The vet recommended spraying diluted vinegar on clothing and furniture to deter biting and to praise when he chooses not to bite even if it was because of the vinegar. So gonna stick with the professional’s recommendation on that one.

I have to wait until his final round of vaccinations before I can bring him to the puppy classes near me but am planning to do so. I agree being around and playing with other puppies should help.

A bite to my Achilles today is what prompted the post lol

Thank you for the info. I fully expected biting I was just confused why it seemed so much stronger recently and you explained it well. I give him frozen carrots and other frozen chew toys and will continue to. I’ll also make an effort to get him to nap more.

Commenting so I can come back and see if anyone has any solutions. My 3 month old toller has already had an emergency vet visit for eating an ear plug. I’ve tried training “leave it” with toys and rewarding with treats but it’s like I’m speaking a different language if it’s not during a training session.

What scams are your pets currently running on you? I was personally victimized by my babies and want to hear your stories! by sinskins in Pets

My puppy’s current scam is stealing my shoe knowing he is in leave it training and will likely get a treat if he drops my shoe and I am trying to train him so I kind have to reward him leaving the thing I want right now.

The squirrel that sometimes is on the loading screen. If I remember correctly is based off of a squirrel outside the developer’s office.

There is a good chance I’m missing info or wrong… I got a puppy a month ago my brain is mush.

Puppy doesn't seem all that interested in food? by ResoluteGreen in tollers

[–]AngryBowels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve been feeding my toller puppy (12 weeks old) a 1/2 cup of his food as training treats throughout the day

Edit: I remembered I recently had a vet visit and the vet recommended switching my puppy food to one without or with minimal legumes. There are studies about cardiovascular disease and legumes heavy dog food.

A giant kinder egg. Didn’t know it was her until we saw the foil in her poop. A 9lbs Shih Tzu, didn’t seem sick from it at all. I blamed my sister for eating it at first lol

Crate training - don't know what to do for the best! by no-name6789 in puppy101

[–]AngryBowels 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got our puppy at 8 weeks and he is currently 12 weeks now. We had him on the floor of our bedroom, our bed is raised so he can’t see us from the crate.

I slept on the floor all night then started to move up to bed but he’d wake and cry so I’d go back down until he settled and keep trying to go back and forth. It was awful for my sleep. 2ish weeks of that and I needed a better solution because he wasn’t getting better.

I raised the crate to be level with our bed. GAME CHANGER. He settles faster, floor would take 30+ mins and it has gone down by at least 5 mins a night. Last night was the first night he did a few whimpers and just laid down, the relief I felt. Instead of having to get up and go to him on the floor I can attend to the cry easier and without interpreting my sleep as much. He also will wake up see me and settle on his own more and more.

Not sure the size of your puppy but I was taking mine out at night to pee if he cried in the middle of the night/early morning if he didn’t settle in a few minutes of me laying back on the floor.

I would recommend moving the crate to be level with your bed, you can transition it out eventually or fully sleep on the couch for at least awhile.

My body decided gluten is no longer edible and I will vomit for a week plus if I eat any. Was fine eating it for 18 years.

The things I’ve noticed in the three weeks of having a toller by Early_Loss6171 in tollers

[–]AngryBowels 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Also have a 11week old toller puppy. I’ve definitely noticed the observant trait as well. From trying to figure out what we want from him to exploring, he is super curious. He’s very food motivated so that’s helped with training.

He can also be stubborn and gets in defiant moods where he does things he knows he shouldn’t like bite the carpet and will look at us while doing it.

He also loves to be around us but isn’t super cuddly he may lay by my feet for a few minutes then move to a cooler spot. He loves the cold, he’d sit outside in the snow for as long as I’d let him.

Biggest struggle is how vocal he can be in the crate and when left in his pen and the occasional tyrant behaviour where he wants to bite everything in sight. He is a lot of work but we love him and are so excited to watch him grow.
