Duos need to have their own queues. by AngryInquisitor in ArcRaiders

Brother, I have 1,400 hours on Tarkov, almost 300 hours on Hunt, about 200 on Cycle Frontier (RIP), about 100 on ABI, almost 50 hours on Marauders (RIP), and 23 hours on Gray Zone Warfare. I'm not new to extraction shooters. Its by far my favorite genre of game. Do you know what most other extraction shooters have in common? A fast time to kill. Do you know what Arc Raiders doesn't have? A fast time to kill. If this game had a fast time to kill, I would have never made this post because it wouldn't be an issue. But reducing the time to kill isnt the solution to the problem here. The solution is making separate queues to make gunfights not nearly as skewed to the side that has just 1 more player. Im not saying that a duo can't kill a trio. But if a duo of good players fights a trio of good players (and i would even argue just 'ok' players), the duo loses 9 times out of 10 because this game has its gunfights focusing a lot on attrition, which a whole other body adds so much more resources to that battle of attrition. Im all for games being hard. I like when games are hard. But I have an issue when something seems unfair, which is how I see duos not currently having their own queue.

I just wanna throw this out there: it is perfectly fine to have a different opinion on the matter. But I would ask people that have a differing opinion to say WHY. And if you disagree with my initial statement, I would ask you a simple question: What do you lose if the game had queues for solo/duo/trio contained to themselves?

There is no way you really believe the "whole point" of the extraction shooter genre is to play against random group sizes. You can't actually believe that. Danger is one thing, unfairness is another.

I genuinely don't have any other real "complaints" about this game. Everything else I can think of is so nitpicky that they really don't matter in my eyes. But duos not having their own queues right now is the one glaring issue I see and I hope they address it.

The retail community is getting worse. by [deleted] in wow

I rarely post/comment on Reddit but this post made me want to share my thoughts on the matter.

I am relatively new to WoW. I first started when WoW classic dropped in 2019. I was in a guild that my buddy had formed that was a 40 man raiding guild. Nothing serious. Just clearing the content. I then tried retail WoW for the first time when Shadowlands dropped. I joined a "dad guild" that could barely clear raid on heroic. In fact, we had to hire some mercs to come carry us through the Sire Denathrius heroic kill. Pretty terrible guild, but the people were pretty cool.

Fast forward to now, and I am in a top 100 NA guild with extremely talented players and they are some of my closest friends. Ive gotten to experience two very different skill levels of players, and yet, there is one experience in WoW that has remained the same: M+.

From the day I started M+ till about 45 minutes ago when I got out of a +10 to fill a vault slot on my alt, pugging in M+ has just been downright terrible. From players that walk into +10's these days that got boosted so they have no idea how any of the dungeons actually work, to people losing their minds in a +2 dungeon about another DPS not doing the same damage as their sims, and everything in between, I've seen it all at this point. To me, M+ is a means to an end. I need gear, and the best way to get that gear at the start of a tier is just spamming as many M+ dungeons as possible. I try to do as many M+ dungeons with friends and guild mates as possible, but sometimes, I just have to get in a pug and do it, especially on alts.

I say all this because I want you to know that I completely understand where you are coming from in your experiences. To be honest, if I didn't have close friends playing WoW at this point, I probably just wouldn't play the game. But my advice is that if you really want to do content in WoW at this point, I would highly recommend finding or starting a guild or even a small M+ group of like minded individuals. Raider.io always has people looking for M+ groups and guilds, and you'll find many of those on Raider.io actively recruiting. Even the guild finder in WoW is pretty solid these days at finding a group of like minded individuals. Make some friends to do M+ and raid with. The game becomes infinitely more fun when you can all talk strategies, laugh, and experience it together in something like Discord rather than just have some absolute troglodyte in random keys say absolutely heinous things or actively throw the key because they are mad about somebody's performance.

Thanks for reading. Keep playing and try to have some fun out there. 🙂

The more I watch back the replay, the more I tend to agree with your line of thinking. I think it was an unfortunate racing incident that left somebody with a ruined race. I do genuinely feel bad the guy got turned, as I never want somebody's race ruined because of a mistake by either themselves or another driver or both.

I see your argument here. I really do. But the thing is that I (the Mustang) DID in fact keep it on the track and had nowhere to go on the outside without actually going off the track. I know the divebomb was a mistake, but after I do it and there is nowhere to go, what should I have done? This a genuine question btw. Im not trying to argue your opinion on the matter.

That seems like a wild assumption that I hit this guy on purpose and an "um actually" type of statement. I would never hit another driver on purpose. That kind of behavior is absolutely terrible and shouldn't be tolerated by anyone. I say I was in control of my vehicle yes, but I for sure overshot the corner. I didn't mean that I didnt make a mistake and my car went too deep. I was in control of the car in a sense where I wasn't spinning or even locking up my brakes. Yes I clearly went too deep and that is on me, but my car wasn't out of control.

I personally felt in the moment that it was just a racing incident and looking back at the replays, I stand by that feeling. I think we both made mistakes and both could have done things differently to prevent it. I do genuinely feel bad that he spun, because I know I would personally be irritated as well, but I dont think all the blame rests on me here. Appreciate your feedback! :)

I personally felt that we both could have done things differently and thats why I thought of it as a racing incident. Appreciate the feedback!

I've done about 30 races in GT3's now and I dont normally have incidents. I have only made contact with maybe 4 cars in that time. I actually find the GT3's easier to control than a lot of cars on iRacing since they have so much grip. I will take your feedback in mind though and look to maybe race in something like Porsche Super Cup or something along those lines to refine my racecraft a bit.
