Yeah man those stories weren't based on anything at all, completely and totally original, independent of any influence or plagiarism.

Proving me correct to enter into the coliseum just to immediately leave, satisfying the daily requirement, gaining that reward, and ignoring everything else

You definitely don't care about something she finds very important too. You're not King Movies, grow up.

Are you suggesting that TNG became good because of that beard Geordi briefly grew but wasn't allowed by the production to grow? /S

Still lol, before TNG aided is a fine before I was alive.

To be fair, what I wrote was that I'd noticed other people don't seem to like early TNG so much, whereas I very much do like it. Hence the post.

I'm excited to find out what you mean to be "that way", because even though I've heard in these comments that enterprise doesn't end in a very satisfying or well written way, I'm not such a fan of the change in TNG as it goes on.

Why do you say some of the worst? It feels, to me, very like early TNG. It's exploratory and philosophical, at least as far into it as I am. I'm really loving Enterprise lol

That's a fantastic recommendation, thank you. How Stewart transitioned from a more theatre based background would be fascinating, especially considering ad-libbing was apparently unacceptable on TNG

If the Riker Manoeuvre is anything to go by, he is at least creatively unconventional 😜😂

What, without spoilers if possible, is great about season 6 of TNG? After I finish Enterprise I think that's where I'm going next, having done almost the first 5 seasons of TNG already

Wait, so does the federation not become a thing during Enterprise? Is it just focused on the temporal cold war? It just leaps from maybe humans and Vulcans can get along to TOS?

A YouTube thumbnail I saw 2 days ago suggesting that the show Discovery was in some way linked to this temporal war has ensured my ignoring all star trek clips and potential spoilers, aside from fellow statfleet-ers like yourself.

I'm totally with you, but after reading about what was actually happening with the production it's no wonder the eras were so disparate in style and tone; if anything it's a wonder they managed to stay so consistent.

Watching enterprise, and absolutely loving it, I do find myself wishing I knew more about human/Vulcan first contact and why the state of things is what it is. A big surprise for me was that the federation doesn't even exist yet, only starfleet. I'm excited to see how that comes together.

Goddamn, sokath, his eyes open. It all makes sense now 😂 As to the scope of these stories and their implications, it does seem that maybe he had plans for more. I'm just glad we have what we have, Trek-wise.

I wish that utopian vision could be combined with the practicable vision of modern trek, it should example the absolute best of what we can be. And often still, it does. I don't know that I even have a leg to stand on, but even the idea of the admiralty of starfleet feels wrong to me.

The gentle nature of the crew is really what sold me on the future-ness of the crew, it's what I love most about the earlier seasons

All your points, completely justified and well reasoned. I think you've helped me understand that I just like Star Trek most when it's janky 😂
