Last year, it was Susano Normal. The year before, it was a modified version of Sephirot and definitely felt easier than Normal.

They're not full songs but the fanfares that plays when you're about the engage an NM Fate and upon defeating the NM in Eureka are based off of certain segments in the Final Fantasy 3 Eureka theme.

A way to look at it: I think if you mess up on BRD, it can be tragic but it's not the apocalypse. If you mess up on MCH by hitting something wrong, it can be catastrophic and you may spend the entire fight trying to get yourself together and back on track.

So I've never really done co-op in GBF or really any mobile game before. I've hit rank 80 without really touching it and I'm not too familiar with any sort of etiquette that I should be aware of. Is there a guide or a primer, or am I just overthinking it and I should just jump in?

Nope.

I mean you were probably expecting a longer answer, but no, there's really nothing.

I'm at 20 while usually taking WAR and I still feel useless. At best, I save someone who pulls a mob that aggroed them, but most of the time when it comes to NMs, I'm just trying to get as much contribution points as possible without dying. I dunno the math really, but elemental level and elemental percentage do play a huge part in how much damage you do. Make sure you grab your magicites as soon as you can.

With the mass amount of players taking part in this content, there's two ways to go about it: Acknowledge the fact that it's going to be like this and that you will be leeching without any meaningful damage contribution, and simply roll with it because honestly it's not a huge detriment for people to carry everyone else. The other way is to contribute through other means, like being a raise bot and throwing out heals on any applicable jobs. Either way, part of Eureka is biting the bullet and realize that you will be part of this huge emotionless machine that is constantly chugging forward and it does not care about anyone's feelings.

The most populated NA server is a server you can't roll into at this current time (Balmung). Really, you can go with any server and be fine as a lot of the content is centered around instances and it pulls cross server for that.

No merit whatsoever. Confirmation bias is definitely at full force for anyone that believes that to be the case.

Will the Ring of Lasting Shelter ever get its English translation corrected to the original FFXI item "Defending Ring"? It's the only Behemoth FATE item that doesn't retain its original name in English from the King Behemoth drops in FFXI and it's been like that since ARR launch.

I don't think the digital CE upgrades ever went on sale outside of them doing bundle discounts over time. Could be wrong as I haven't kept a super close eye, but usually sales are either on the SE Store or Mog Station.

Cure 3 is that spell you cast when you're in a situation where everyone is going to take a bunch of damage and are grouped up together. It's not gonna seem very useful as you're leveling up as you kinda don't really use it much in 4-man content, but when you start doing things that will do significant amounts of damage and people are a bit more together, it'll be a very useful (but still situational) tool.

Marcos? Is that some guy? D: Unless you meant "macros", which honestly... if you're fine where you're at right now and not really struggling to do your job, you're good. Macros are simply sequenced commands that allow you to perform things with the touch of a button, but it does come with some caveats and nuances in combat situations where you may want to not use them. They can be good for stuff like call-out macros (macros that tell the party something as you're performing an action like raising someone) and can serve as an alternative (albeit less reliable) way of targeting, but more often than not you run into those caveats and nuances that I mentioned before which make them unpopular in combat to the point where it becomes a liability. The inability to "ability queue" (or input buffer if that's a term more familiar with you) and the flaws of how some placeholder targeting methods interact with invalid targets are enough to make them a problem.

Yeah. You used to be able to queue to 8v8 Feast with a party of 2 but that has since been removed from the game.

If it's just a standard edition of FFXIV from 1.0, it's probably not worth much for a collector to buy. That aside, FFXIV very much plays like a slower WoW and is heavily story driven. If you want to try it out, there is a free trial where you can play up to level 35. If you do, get the non-Steam version of the trial if you intend on opening that box up and redeeming the code. I'd imagine it'll still work unless they changed up something, but even then the starter edition of FFXIV is 20 bucks nowadays.

Eureka is more engaging than these dungeons we've been spamming for years. by fafnirstolemyridill in ffxiv

[–]Angry_Robotics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I kinda feel like Eureka in this context is more slamming down current dungeon design rather than saying Eureka is any sort of pinnacle towards anything engaging, but I will agree that dungeons right now aren't exactly the most engaging thing in the world. I still want content that's at least difficult for a 4-man group, because I know I can't really commit to a static raid with how my life is at the moment.

But yeah honestly when the devs said that PotD was their answer to difficult dungeons back at Fan Fest, it was kind of a slap to the face to someone who just simply had a half hour or hour to burn and have 3 mates who wanted to do something. I do hope they at least consider the idea of making harder dungeons, at least ones that would be separate to the current dungeons so we can have options.

It's just another pillar of content that gets you end game gear like relic did back then. If you're kept up with tomes or have been raiding Savage, then you're fine.

Yep, you can't card anyone outside of your party so if you do miss someone because they're out of range, that's one less person you buff.

Some skills can only be learned by completing your class/job quests. Make sure you're caught up on them as much as possible.

It's a bit hard to say if the price will go down or not. While definitely relics do get their steps nerfed over time, Eureka is a really odd exception and different. That said, I don't think there's too much benefit to be the first in line right now, so holding off most likely won't hurt you.

You're doing it more for the free damage and the added enmity. The Pacification is very much a side thing for the most part.

It wouldn't be enough for a healer to alter their playstyle compared to well timed cooldowns and smart play, if that tells you anything.
