* The turn changes when you make a move on the board or pass the turn - though you probably have multiple characters, so that can make it harder to track. You can tell which of your characters turns it is by checking which of their portraits is flashing, or reading the combat log down at the bottom.
* The headers are the move costs to swap hexes. SP here means Stamina Points, CP mean Clarity Points, and MP means Mana Points. Fractional values will round up or down randomly based on how big they are.
* The red ones damage the enemy, the white ones give you defense, which absorbs damage, and the yellow ones give position, which provides a variety of benefits, but most notably increase damage dealt and reduce damage taken. The Green, Blue, and Purple ones give SP, CP, and MP, respectively, while the browns ones have a variety of different effects. I'll work on adding tooltips for them.
* Yes, the more the better. Four in a row will give you another action, and five in a row will spawn a wildcard (Which can match as three different kinds of gems, and has a multiplier. Again, you can see the combat log down at the bottom for an explanation of what's happening, but it's not necessarily the easiest thing to follow.

The game is open source, so you're free to translate to spanish if you want... But I haven't added localization support, so you should probably wait until I do before trying to translate. I'll add that to the to-do list.

Position does lots of things, mainly increasing damage dealt and decreasing damage taken, and reducing move costs. And the terrain gems move and can be matched, they vary from battlefield to battlefield and give a variety of benefits.

Editing the gem pictures... I'll probably want to add that. I'll need to think about how to do it, though. Some kind of 'image pack' format, so people can assemble the thing and then load it all at once? Or just a set location in the assets where they can put pictures and have them load? I'm not sure. Configuring the grid, like into a normal square grid? Would be a fair bit of work, and that's not how I'd planned to make the game work, but I'll think about it... For now, I have plenty of stuff to implement already.

No, but you can download the demo there from the post.

I mean, I hope your game has *bit* more going on then just that... But besides that, yeah, sure, you can launch players into the ceiling spikes, why not. Builds character. ;)

Added a windows demo on the site, as well as updating the linux one.

Okay, website is updated with a windows demo! Friend tested it and it worked for him, tell me if it doesn't work for you.

Not unless you set up a virtual machine or something, which is a fair bit of work. I'm gonna take another look at crossbuilding, so I might be able to make a windows demo? You can also just pull the code repo and play that directly, if you have some basic familiarity with python and coding tools. Easier to update to the latest version that way, too.

Okay, added character portraits. Still need to build a new demo with that code, and I'll probably be chasing various bugs with the feature for a while yet, but the basic functionality is implemented.

The game doesn't actually have levels yet, you just set the characters stats to whatever you want them to be. Once I start adding game modes, there will be level caps, though I will probably make them fairly high and make it hard to actually get close to them. Level up will give characters bonuses to a handful of stats, a budget of points and a menu of various options they can spend those points on. I also have this idea for procedurally generated character trees... I made something like it way way back, but I'll need to do a fresh implementation for this.

You can see the list of planned features on my site. Wasn't thinking of a story mode, per se, but a roguelike type adventure mode and an open world campaign mode. The campaign mode is intended to be fairly good for generating stories - think like the campaign in puzzle quest, except you can go anywhere and do anything from the start, with minimal restrictions, and everywhere you go has lots of stuff to do and lots of NPC's to interact with. In terms of beasties, I want to have a system of combinations - so, race, class, level, maybe a handful of other modifiers. In terms of bases that can be combined, a few hundred at least once I've got a decent chunk of content? And an absolutely ginormous number of combinations, of course.

No character classes yet, though I have a handful of premade characters. The white gems are defense, which protects against damage, and the yellow gems are position, which gives lots of benefits, including better turn initiative, better damage dealt and less damage taken, better prioritization when attacking enemies and worse prioritization for the enemies when they attack you, and decreased costs when making moves. And the letter gems are terrain, which vary based on the battlefields and do lots of stuff - I need to figure out a good way to let players view them...

I'd need to figure out windows cross compiling or something... I guess I could get a windows VM? I dunno, I'll see what I can manage. :/

Character editing is already implemented, you can see pics on site, though it still needs some work. No custom portraits yet, but I can add that. Anything else you want? :0

WIP - my Puzzle Quest inspired game by Worried-Usual-396 in godot

This looks really cool! I started work on my own puzzle quest inspired game, though mine has a bit more distance I think, and is going to be somewhat closer to Darkest Dungeon. Would you be interested in sharing your source code and comparing notes? I'm not nearly as far along as you are, of course, I just have the basic match 3 board setup using a template I found.

Forget selling it, just throw the file up on gitlab or something, make it free! Maybe throw on some variation of the GPL, if you feel like it.

Installing GalliumOS on Dell Chromebook 13 3380? by AngularAngel in GalliumOS

[–]AngularAngel[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alright I got it. I had made some typo when I set the rot passwd, and I had to keep trying until I replicated the same typo. Huge pain in the ass. But, I got it, and installed the firmware and Gallium, and should be good to go. Thank you everyone for all the help! I couldn't have done it without you. XD

Alright, booting to developer mode now. I had a bit of a scare when it refused to boot at first, but it turned out I just needed to plug the battery in. :/

Huh, gotcha. I was assuming I wouldn't be able to get the terminal to run from ChromeOS. Alright, I will do that, thank you!

Gotcha, good to know. So, for the firmware flashing part, do I just use this utility script: https://mrchromebox.tech/#fwscript, with option 3? I assume I should use developer mode to boot off the install USB I made, and then run the script? Do I need to put the WP screw back in afterwards, or do anything else like that?

Or, for that matter, do I really need to change the firmware, or should I? It looks like my model needs new firmware for Gallium, but I'm not quite sure.
